5 ROSTER CUTS THAT CAN MAKE AN IMPACT ELSEWHERE
https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro...act-elsewhere/ 2. Paul Kruger, OLB Cut by the Cleveland Browns Sometimes a player just doesn’t live up to the contract he signs, and that’s the case with Paul Kruger, who was more a poor value for money proposition for Cleveland than he was a bad player. In 2015, he only recorded three sacks, but notched 54 total pressures to lead the team by a distance (the next best mark was Desmond Bryant, with 33). He has never matched the season that earned him the big-money contract from the Browns, but he has been better than average, or even good, for every season in Cleveland. The Browns, though, are going all-in with youth, and have more than one rookie pass-rusher that needs playing time. Kruger just didn’t make sense from a financial standpoint for a team looking to the future, but he can still provide some useful depth to any side needing bodies in their pass-rush rotation. |

Re: Kruger is signing with the Saints
I think we really have the makings of something special now on the D Line. Kruger may not be a game changer but he's better than anyone else we've lined up at weak side DE in recent years. With Jordan on the other side and Fairley/Davison getting some push up the middle... This is gonna be one of the most talented D Line's we've had in a while.

Re: Kruger is signing with the Saints
Mr. Kruger had 50+ pressures last year. The next closest guy on the team had 33. Yeah, the sacks were low, but he has a good to potentially great supporting cast on the line here. Cam Jordan is consistently among the leaders in pressures. Now you add another 50 coming from the opposite side, along with improved interior push and suddenly our d-line is looking like the good kind of nasty. Nothing is for sure yet obviously, but on paper this is absolutely an upgrade and potentially a key upgrade. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Re: Kruger is signing with the Saints
The more i think about it the more I like the pairing with Jordan
Despite the speed rush label the media gives Paul I see him as pretty much the same type of player as Jordan. Pocket collapsing from both DE is a good thing. DT get and push up the middle the use of a blitzing player should really get a better shot at making an impact. also limiting scrambling inside the pocket. LB CB and S should love this addition. |
Re: Kruger is signing with the Saints
There may be a little chemistry with Kruger and Craig Robertson from their playing days together in Cleveland.
