Spiller or Murphy?
 

Really torn on who to start. Murphy has better hands and has the potential to return. Spiller has not done much and is also getting old. Pretty much a poor investment and at his age, not looking like like we will get anything out of it.

Spiller easily.

SP will not give Murphy snaps on offense after he put the ball on the turf twice in preseason.

Don't be so quick to knock Spillers hands, he had 2600 all purpose yards in 2011 for the bills.

I am also starting Latavius for the Raiders. It's either Blount or Spiller for my second RB. Think I'll go with Spiller this game.

man gotta go Blount all day gonna see the ball more and a battering ram for goal line tds. blount gives you the best chance for tds

Spiller ... I've followed pre season pretty closely & he is explosive. Different player from last year. CJ will be more deadlier than Sproles this season.

You in a twenty team league? Been doing heavy duty fantasy football for twenty years. The key is the scoring. Spiller will definitely get more offensive opportunity than Murphy, but return yardage can add up with Murphy slated to cover both duties. With the new kicking rules Murphy may be actually returning on every kickoff if the Raiders kick short. What is your scoring breakdown?

In that last pre season game vs the Ravens, Murphy rushed 6 x's for 31 yards. He also caught 3 passes for 28 yards. As for kick off duty (his specialty), he returned two for a combine 53 yards.

Marcus is hardly awful.

Other than the returns, Ingram, Hightower and Spiller will be handling most all of those duties.

The OP has pointed out that Murphy is awful which is simply not true.

I'm not concerned with Marcus at the RB position. He is a kick returner / punt specialist.

Returner is where he is awful, i cringe every time just waiting for that next muff or fumble.....you know it's coming.

Well brace yourself, MM is #1 on the depth chart for kick offs come Sunday or until coach Payton changes the lineup.

Brady isnt playing and they keep it simple and try and punch it in close

Unless Spiller peels off a 60-70 yards catch and TD your getting nothing out of him

I think you are correct. Spiller should get plenty of opportunities. Blount, not so much, pretty much a one trick pony on the goaline.

My fault, first time playing. I really didn't even want to but was filling in for someone so I did the honorable thing. Blount is short yardage and without Brady getting to that sweet spot the bar just got raised. Spiller is getting old, still can get it done but again, he is old. If Spiller goes down Murphy will wear that hat and he has very good hands besides being a returner. He had a couple of brain freezes but overall he has done a solid job as a returner.
