Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands

Payton on Fleener: "it's still a work in progress...there's been moments but it hasn't been as consistent as we'd like"
Famous Amos stepped up and got a comment on Fleener's lack of progress... Know the rookie kicks with a low trajectory (not that Peat nor Armstead did their part)... And also know Crawley should have pulled that ball in... But in no way do I hang this loss on the rookies - they played out****ing standing in my book... The failure to run the ball more and to convert on third down because of drops by Fleener and Coleman (and to repeatedly keep trying to geaux to them) was the key failure of the game yesterday in the Meadowlands... |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
For the first time in forever, a saints CB actually turned to look for the ball, that's what makes it so frustrating, the play was there to be made and he just didn't attack the ball in the air.
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Peat and Armstead on the right side on a FG? That's odd...
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
I don't know, Coach Payton, he dropped balls in Indy and drops 'em here, so he consistently drops balls...
Wonder who the Saints pro scout was that recommended signing Fleener? |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Of all the poor signings we have had fleener may turn out to be the worst.
Time will tell... |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Shocker, wait........ who said it was an awful signing again???
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Let's just wait until Graham gets cut and bring him back
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
It's not just drops. Dude is soft. Playing scared...
On that final drive we got delay of the game because he couldn't understand next play call. WTH It's like we are signing these guys just to add more dead money. |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Coby has no hops. he stereo types white guys. Proof white guys can not jump. cut bait 2018
OL continues to be an issue |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
OL has trouble with tough d lines
Atlanta should be a Picnic |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
He's the lead pony in the dead money race.
You don't pay that kind of money to a player to be a work in progress. |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Don't care that Fleener is white, care little that he can't jump (two separate issues), but the biggest issues is those hands...
We have two 6' 6" receivers in Fleener and Coleman who can't catch a football, especially in "pressure situations." Know Payton was trying to salvage Fleener and Fleener's confidence by going back to him repeatedly, but it cost us a much needed win... You've got Michael Thomas sitting there and if we're gonna be Air Coryell and keep throwing it, then get the best three receivers on the field... And Ingram is an okay receiver outta the backfield; you kept Marcus Murphy and Daniel Lasco get them in there as well and really open that field up... |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Mullethead and Stonehands - it sounds like a new Comedy Central cartoon series.
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
maybe if he cut that awful ponytail his hands might work. if I remember right the stat line for the giants game was 2 catches and thrown to 9 times....that my friends is not good.
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
They're a couple of marshmallows. They look good, but really they're just soft and disappointing. I saw a total lack of willingness to sacrifice their bodies for the catch. Fleener not stretching out for that pass up the seam that should've been a TD. Coleman repeatedly trying to catch with one hand so that he could use the other hand to brace his fall. I'm sorry, but you're basically wearing body armor. If you're not willing to get a couple of ouchies from hitting the ground a few times then you need to stay seated on the bench. I realize that one hand was all Coleman could get on a couple of those passes at first, but if he quits worrying about the fall and immediately brings the other hand around to control the ball then those are catches. Fleener might be softer than Jimmy, and that's frightening. I actually liked the signing (not the money, but the player) now I just hope we limit his touches so he has less chance to impact the game negatively.

Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Maybe Mullethead should lose the pony tail.
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
I don't have any problem at all with his hair. I used to have long hair myself, and if I still had a full head of hair (damn you genetics!) It would still be long. I know some of you guys are old school and that's fine, but his hair has nothing to do with his softness or lack of concentration.

All I know is that the Mullethead needs to get his a$# :censored: in the game. He has been very mediocre in training camp and it has carried over to real games. It's time to go earn that salary and make plays. |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
At training camp I said that Fleener looked soft and that Coleman wasn't giving any effort and looked like he knew he was going to be cut. I just don't understand the game plan offensively to take Thomas out of the game. Oh wait, yes I do. Sean Payton is a gambler and takes big risks like ambush. He likes to surprise people and catch teams off guard. He did that with Hill until people started game planning for him and took him out of the equation. He's trying to use the same plan with Coleman. Unfortunately Coleman wasn't up to the challenge.

Mullethead and Stonehands?
Wow. Thats pathetic dude. |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
This thread is politically incorrect...

somebody in this thread said he has no hops, either. That appears to be true. But mainly, I didn't like it because he always had the dropsies. I don't care if you have 100 yards receiving in a game if you are dropping passes and killing drives. This isn't fantasy football where stats are all that matter. He doesn't anywhere near consistently make tough catches. Right now, he is barely catching even the easy one's and isn't putting up those hollow numbers. he's just plain non existent. |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
I wasn't able to see the game Sunday.
Didn't really have to to know what Coleman did. I would say make him a corner, but the same timidity would kill him on that side of the ball too. This is a man's game and he just doesn't have the fire to be good. Can't stand to watch alligator arms on a 6' 6" frame. Damn! I had high hopes for Fleener. Didn't know about the dropsies, but I'm quickly learning. Again...Damn! I've never seen so many grown men that can't catch; and that's their job. We got spoiled. Damn! |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
This confirms everything we have been saying & thinking. We can't judge talent.

Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
No defense on Fleener . Hes played like a little ole biaaaaatch, but those drops from Coleman would have been extremely tough catches. I guess that's still what he is paid to do though.
|
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Fleener makes that catch in Game 1 vs Raiders, done...
In Game 2 vs G'nats, it seemed inexplicable they'd keep going to him after the first two crucial drops... |
Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
Mind blowing to me that our offense is the problem. And, it is not like we didn't drop some cash on it.

Re: Problem Children: Mullethead and Stonehands
I don't like TEs who can't block. Give me a TE who blocks like s tackle, runs good routes and catches the ball. Hoby Brenner. Now Fleener can't block or catch. Cut him.
