From my reading, there was speculation that PJ suffered a GRADE 3 concussion. Apparently these are super severe (loss of consciousness, amnesia, possible bleeding, nerve trauma). He was on the turf motionless for a least a minute if not longer. If he does in fact have a Grade 3 concussion & would get another one a week or two later it could be life threatening & permanent brain damage. The young man is only 22, 23 and suffered a very serious injury that could be life altering. Right after it happened, I immediately began to pray for him because it looked bad, I mean Darryl Stingley (paralysis) bad. I just don't think the Saints medical staff & trainers are taking a chance with it. Side note: IMO I don't think the Saints staff handled Swann's triple concussion situation well last year. Hopefully he has no long term effects. |
