New Blood - Vonn Bell, Nate Stupar, and Michael Thomas

Linebacker James Laurinaitis was out and inactive so Nate Stuper started in his place. Stupar had eight tackles and the fumble recovery that set up the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Rookie safety Vonn Bell, drafted from Ohio State, played free safety in place of Byrd. Bell forced the first fumble of the two in the last 7 minutes of the game yesterday.

WR Michael Thomas, another Ohio State rookie, had 4 catches and looked great yesterday.

It's great to see our draft picks and Bell, a free agent pickup, carrying the torch. The defense looked stronger as the game went on and adjustments were definitely made at half-time. Something we rarely saw with Rob Ryan.

Nate Stupar should be starting, I didn't know if he would hold up but the guy played awesome.

Michael Thomas - you know what seperates him from people like Brandon coleman?

When Brandon dropped an important pass vs the giants, he walked back to the huddle smiling. When Michael Thomas dropped a pass, he got visibly angry with himself and then caught a great back shoulder fade.

I fully expect Vonn Bell and Michael Thomas to be superstars for us in a few years time.

Breaux, Williams, Bell, Thomas, Cooks, Lasco, Peat, Crawley, Davison, Kikaha, Rankins, etc.

We have a lot of very young talent, and a lot of talent just in their prime... Fairley, Snead, Jordan, Ingram, Unger, Armstead, Robertson, Vaccaro, etc.

Exactly! That reminds me, I liked seeing Lasco run yesterday, he hit the hole quickly and made some nice cuts to shake a defender.

Well they are a pretty darn good team so the odds of getting a good player is decent...

It's been suggested that Sean Payton has a "Pipeline" to Ohio St. This pipeline has produced one RB no longer in the NFL One Safety now with The Eagles and One Rookie Safety and WR!! That's TWO! stand back!!! Try not to drown!!

That is nineteen players. Just three short of fielding a full team(excluding special teams). The problem is going to be getting their max potential with this coaching staff. Vitt, McMahon and the D-line coach are holding Payton back and he has to let somebody else make the decisions after reevaluating this team.:bng:

I still can't believe he's on the team. At training camp he looked lost and out of place with almost no energy. I got the feeling he was just waiting to be cut.

Let's see how he fares against stiffer competition over the next month. The meat and potatoes of our schedule is upon us.
