Delvin Breaux ahead of schedule (week 6 return?)

Delvin Breaux - New Orleans Saints - 2016 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com

ESPN's Mike Triplett says CB Delvin Breaux (broken leg) is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
Breaux was expected to miss six weeks after going down in the opener. He has a chance to beat that timetable, with a possible return after the Saints' Week 5 bye a best case scenario. Sterling Moore and Ken Crawley will start against San Diego. Sep 30 - 7:04 PM
But since "injuries are no excuse" this probably isn't good news to some.

But to the rest of us who don't live in clicheville, this is awesome!!!

Yesterday the Saints snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, and now this!

Nothing would make me happier. I'm pretty sure the Breaux injury singlehandedly derailed our season he's that important.

Good to hear, will remain cautiously optimistic.

Not just Breaux, but also Lewis, PJ Williams, Swann, Wilson, Kikaha, and Rankins.

They were all key players we were counting on to move our defense into the middle of the pack.

Did you say Cliche'? "Are you interested or are you Committed?" then again "It is what it is"

Terrific news on Breaux ...

If I'm the Saints, I'd be extremely, extremely careful on when 1st rounder (Rankins) returns. Especially considering how much promise he has already displayed in training camp & future potential difference maker on D. Definitely want to be 100%.

Think long term for both DB and SR.

We need both of these young fellas but we shouldn't rush them back. I'd rather have them play the rest of the season than rush them back a week ahead of time, just so they can reinjure themselves and miss more time.

Cliches? Sounds like Breaux has "ants in his pants" to "put the past behind him." Injuries have been our "achilles heel," but let's not "tempt fate" and "count our chickens before they hatch." We've put the "cart before the horse" in the preseason but once we get healthy, we'll "have the whole enchilada." "Every dog has his day," and we'll make everyone "eat crow" soon enough.

"Hats off" to Breaux though, hope he "keeps his nose to the grindstone."

We're just going to continue working hard, and trying to improve every week,
one game at a time. We just have to build on what we've done this week, and try to take it to the next level each and every week.

I hope our pass rush returns at the same time.

It sure did with Ashley Ambrose.

Nothing medical about the Saints organization is a good thing. I don't see how a broken leg can heal and the player be football ready after six weeks. Once the zone defense/let them run open and catch the dang ball was scrapped, the young secondary did a good job. That being said, Breaux is a difference maker. If he's cleared to and wants to play, have at it young man.

Glad to hear Breaux is ahead of schedule but DON'T bring him back too soon.

Best to give him the time he needs to heal properly.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Still, he won't be the same player until at least next year. Should we bring him back too early and risk re-injury or the possibility of ruining the rest of his career?

It's not a soft tissue injury, it's a broken bone. If the bone is healed, then it's healed. In fact, when a broken bone heals it is actually thicker than before.

Re: Delvin Breaux ahead of schedule (week 6 return?)

He posted a video of himself running on a treadmill so it's definitely looking like he'll be good to go in a week or two.

Re: Delvin Breaux ahead of schedule (week 6 return?)

Being ahead of schedule doesn't mean we're rushing him back before he's ready.

How many of you are on the Saints medical team?

True, while it is thicker & harder, it is also less flexible at first, which comes back with time...

And the Saints medical team has the Saints management compensating them, not Delvin Breaux...

If I were Del Breaux, I'd still get an independent medical opinion before coming back...

He can be primed for a major payday and that could evaporate quickly should he come back too soon and aggravate the injury...

Running on the treadmill??? I really hope they don't botch this

Unfortunately we've seen it happen many times where Players come back too soon.

I think if there's anyone who knows about coming back from an injury it's Breaux. I trust his judgement.

I don't know about single handed lay because of all the other injuries but we would have won the raiders game and probably the Giants and Falcons game. It shouldn't have to hinge on one player.

Would agree that he could have been a difference maker in all games except that Falcons game where we were gashed by their running game...

But one player does not a team make and D.A. or his scheme still doesn't have the right front seven up front...

Looks like the light finally went off at Free Safety...

a fracture or break' it heals faster if u pin i,t bolt it, or plate it but its the time of non weight baring that needs time to get back your muscles right that what you dont want to rush. i'm no dr. or trainer but i have broken a leg. if he could have continued working the leg without pressure thats a big advantage.
