They've cut Bene Benwikere as well. His body of work isn't bad... wonder if he'd be a good pickup.

One bad game and the Panthers already shown him the door? Young guy solid potential. I don't think he stays unemployed very long though ... probably not in the cards for NO. Kind of surprised by the move (release) up in Carolina.

If concussion protocol is based on the player being able to answer questions with any sort of intelligence, he may be out all year.

But seriously folks. I agree with QBREES. I'd rather he get a 'high ankle' or the dreaded 'quad'. I don't wish anyone getting his brains scrambled on a football field.

Just don't under estimate him. He is dangerous. I've had to watch him play at Auburn and now here in the NFC South. I don't like him but my lady does. So there's that.........

two thoughts.
I could probably find 10 starting Arena League QB's who could torch our
defense. So their backup, especially if he's a real quarterback, who, you
know, stands in the pocket, and reads defenses, will probably torch us.

I'd just as soon Cam play. He's a big runner. He's not a QB. Contain
his running, and you stop the Panthers O.

Besides, there's always the possibility he goes on one of his little jaunts, and
someone like, oh, Mike Mauti, cleans his jerk-azz clock. Which I enjoy.

And then we could be the ones dancing around.

hit him early and often. take a few 15 yarders if you have to but do not pull up. make him jumpy in the pocket hearing foot steps dancing around his head. If he runs, does not slide, lay him out.

Newton is easily rattled. It's well documented. If we get to him early in the game and can take him to the carpet a few times we can disrupt their game plan. I can see a lot of blitzing and jams at the line of scrimmage to throw off the timing routes when he looks for a release valve.

This team must contain Newton and not let him get to the edge. Set the edge with Cam and Edibali. Put a spy on Newton and don't worry about the deep ball. Just get pressure on him and throw him off his game. It's not hard to get him out of rhythm. Blitz baby! Blitz! :razz:

He should've practiced a little more. We're lucky that the Panthers defense is as bad as ours.
