not highly probable but possible trade of edge james going to the bucs. who would we rather be facing twice a year? him or carnell? yuk

Edge is not gonna go to the Bucs unless they give up a defender like Barber or Rice and move their salary. Cadillac is a more likely option. Honestly, I would prefer Edge cause they would lose another valuable defender to get him, and have their cap tight again next year. Their O-line still sucks, and they can\'t address it. I am sure they know that, unless they want Edge that bad.

edge is on the down hill slide..carnell is a heckuva player.....trust me..I\'d move duece for either him or brown.

Deuce to get Cadillac? Hell no. Deuce to get Ronnie Brown? that I woul do in a heartbeat. Edge on the downhill slide? He is 27, and a certified stud. I would prefer the bucs get him cause he will handicap their cap number and would prob force them to trade back from number 5 in the draft cause they won\'t be able to afford it. They woudl have Edge, but be screwed elsewhere and I woudl love it.

I\'m just quoting the \"experts\" -in fact all of them agree-on edge.

i take cadillac with a cheaper salary than duece with top five money. trust me-cadillac will be good..both will be pro-bowlers..I\'m not going to speculate who will be better- I take brown higher in the draft..but cadillac your poor mans\' option.
just to clarify-i\'ve seen cadillac since he was in high school..the guy just bounces off people and is extremely hard to get hold of..i hate to use this analagy (becuase sanders/sweetness are two of the best) but he is like a barry sanders or walter payton type rb....

ronnie brown is a larger emitt smith or less strong BO jackson.

and neither get hurt (cadillac is getting knocked for breaking his leg--but trust me..that was a freak incident and utterly disgusting when it happened).

What \"experts\" agree on Edge? Wasn\'t he close to the top of the league in rushing last year? At 27, how is that declining? You will have to show me these \"experts.\" Also, Brown is more of a power runner than Cadillac, hence the reason I liek him more. Plus he has great hands and ran a 4.45 forty or something like that. I am not sold on Cadillac, but you seem to be. IMO, I would trade Deuce to get Brown, but not Caddy.

I would take Cadillac just because of his name.

Whoodi - no offense, but I think you might want to consider production versus age. Sure, age is important. Definitely. But so what if James is 27? Last year he finished 4th in the league in rushing. Pretty darn good. But the 3 years prior to that - Hurt, 17th, and 13th. Not to mention he\'s doing it on a team with the most explosive passing game... hell offense... in the NFL.

I guess I just don\'t understand why past results don\'t matter when age comes into play...

He is only 27. Isn\'t that young? Howard is 27, 28. Don;t you wanna keep him? I guess I don\'t understand what you are disagreeing with Who. The question was would we rather have Edge or Cadillac go to Tampa. I answered Edge cause he would screw them cap wise. Someone said they liked Caddy, I said I liked Brown, if trading Deuce to get either was involved for us. I guess I am not understanding what you are disagreeing to.

Misread your post and was thinking about it in the Joe Horn context anyway. You\'re right. My bad.

I saw them both day in and out..met them, saw them in practice, saw them in games.

your right brwon is more powerful..he is an awesome back..but cadilac is better than most are giving him credit for.

i\'m not saying either is a better or worse back-different styles..depends on which style you favor-i think both are going to be pro-bowlers for a long time barring injury...

and i think that both will do the same thing duece does for less money.

Okay baron, I can see that. I guess it is a matter of preference then. No prob. I still prefer Brown. ;)

Who, no problem my man. I was thoroughly confused though. :seeingstars:

hey whodi--i\'m not saying I like cadilac over brown..or vice versa..honestly you can\'t go wrong with either pick..yeah, i\'d proably take brown higher..but cadilac will be a stud as well.

I\'d chose a 27 year old Probowl running back over a rookie anyday(as far has having them on my team). If you don\'t, then something has to be going on up there. I see the point you were making about them losing a defender in a trade sw, but remember they\'ve already said they would be willing to give him up for less than a 1st rounder. I\'d rather face Williams too.

I think that Edge is bieng discussed in a trade with Miami...

And we all know how big Gruden is on Cadillac....

Miami said they have no interest in Edge. but Jason Taylor is unhappy with his evolving role...interesting.

papzm Tampa would have to lose a defender cause they have no cap room, not cause of Indy\'s demand, or lack thereof. What Indy is demanding is of little importance if Edge goes to the Bucs. What Edge is demaning is, which is to be the highest paid back in the league. So with no money, the Bucs would have to give up a defender to get Edge just to be able to sign him. And it would have to be someone like Rice or Booger or Brooks. I would LOVE for them to hurt their D to help their O, cause their line sucks too.

I see... I forgot they had salary cap problems. They always figure out ways to restructure players contracts to make things work though, they do it all the time. But they also cut a lot of veteran players also... so I get your points. What does it matter to us anyways then! They won\'t be able to sign him and we\'ll get to face our rookie(IF they even draft em)... what\'s not to like! We dominate them every year anyways... pfft bunch of pushovers :P

It matters cause their D still has good players. We need to make them lose some more. And keep them in cap problems for a few more years. that would help us and keep them our doormats. lol

we did have a nice position to start before free agent signing opened. the 3 division rivals were among the 4 or 5 worst cap situation teams. i can\'t say the fo has taken full advantage of this but atl and tb surely havent made big gains. that was one of the sweetest aspects of the smith signing- a direct subtraction from a division rival as well as a team improvement.

i hope miami takes edge. i think they are committed to feely for a year so no rodgers or smith. then rolle, dj, edwards or mike williams looks like likely instead of benson or brown. i think the trickle down effect would increase the odds of someone slipping out of the upper end to #16. there are some good looking qb\'s down the board but alex smith would be a nice dilema to face at 16. jammal brown is looking better n better. let\'s give houston a 2nd for jamie sharper and a promise not to take an OT and he looks bought.

AH HA! I found the article :icon_eyesroll:

Getting a deal done for James would be difficult for the Bucs, who have almost no room under the $85.5-million salary cap. But the bigger problem is compensating the Colts. The Bucs own the No. 5 overall pick in the draft next month, where they could fill their need at running back. Even if Indy lowered its demand to a first-round pick and a player, the Bucs likely would have to give up at least one of their young defensive stars.
