Awesome news! On a note, the team is still trying to find Ellerbe. He was last seen soaking in the tub nursing a stubbed toe. News traveled that he was looking like he was recovered, the news scared him enough to make him run away from the practice facility.

Not at the same time; Rankings and Fairley play the same position; Davison/Jenkins will be beside one or the other

They're gonna be out there together plenty. Think about how Detroit used Suh and Fairley together.

Seeing as how Fairley was backing up Rankins when he was healthy with Davison as the 1 tech, I don't see it...

... In the base 4-3 defense. In nickel and dime it was Rankins and Fairley. I believe Fairley was lined up as the 1-technique in those situations in training camp.

There will be some packages when both of them will be on the field. I like the way Davison has grown but if I can get Fairley and Rankins on the field occasionally I'm doing it. Can you imagine what real inside penetration can do to take the pressure off of our young secondary?

I think he will really improve our QB pressure and our run defense could get a little better. We held the Panthers to 103 net rushing yards.

Ellerbie has twice the passion, determination, heart, and work ethic than our entire defense had last year. His body is the problem, not him. He's not a Lewis or Byrd kind of player.

Yep. And if you negate the one big gash up the middle, they were very limited in the run dept most of the game.

That stat is encouraging to me. It was the 1st stat i looked at after the game. I just wish it was consistent enough- 100 or less- for it would equate to more Ws.
