Drew Brees sets NFL record with 16th 400-yard passing game
 

Quarterback Drew Brees set an NFL record with his 16th career 400-yard passing game after throwing for 465 yards in the New Orleans Saints' 41-38 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

He and retired quarterback Peyton Manning had been tied with 15 400-yard passing games entering Week 6's games.
Brees also threw four touchdown passes as the Saints dropped the defending NFC champion Panthers to 1-5 this season.
Brees also reached another milestone in Sunday's game, becoming the sixth player to record 50,000 passing yards with one team.

The other five are Manning (Colts), Brett Favre (Packers), Dan Marino (Dolphins), Tom Brady (Patriots) and John Elway (Broncos).

Surely there is more to come on the quest for the NFL MVP Superbowl Championship.

He is currently on a pace for a 4000 yard season.

He might own every significant record when his career is over with. Let's hope it means something again in these last few years. Today was much more vintage with the explosive plays, and it lead to a win.

Im still disgusted that this man had this good of a day and the D did its best to try and loose. This game shouldn't have even been close.

If our defense would have been even a little bit better than it has been during Brees career here we would be the Patriots of the NFC.

Personal stat - impressive.
But we've lost more 400+ games than we've won.
This win narrows the gap but it's almost shameful from a defensive perspective.
Mentioned earlier, We eeked it out with a field goal at 41.

I'm glad Drew's here but I do feel like he would have won multiple Super bowls with The Patriots. It's sad that Drew has been saddled with this sucky defense during his time with the New Orleans Saints. I am starting to blame Payton, but Loomis needs to be called out for not reigning in Payton's meddling with the defense.

Totally agree. In fact, Brees record when throwing for over 400+ is 8-7 while P. Manning's is 11-3. The difference: which QB always had an above average to good defense? For example: 2010 playoffs vs 'Hawks.
