If I remember correctly, Lewis was only released when a roster spot HAD to be cleared. Besides, we do not know the extent of either of their injuries. Lewis could have had little to no chance of a return, while Ellerbe may be much more likely to eventually pay a dividend. I seriously doubt any decision is made in the vacuum to which some people surmise.

Thinking optimistically, Rankins might be 100%. He wasn't allowed to do anything until the week 6 mark, so he might actually be ready to go.

Ellerbe- time for an injury settlement and release. Worst part is, we knew he was glass and brought him in anyway

@Guido- Lewis was released when the roster was fat, and not at an actual deadline. The fact that no one has picked him up says that we made the right call

They should cart Ellerbe out of the tunnel, I wouldn't risk him getting injured running onto the field

Ha!! He'll probably get close to game day and stub his toe on a cockroach antennae and be out another 4 weeks.
