This team will never sniff the playoffs again as long as they continue to field a community college level defense.

Changes need to be made-coaching and players-or else this is never going to get better.

Nobody should be safe - they all should go…

As bad as the D is, our offense seems to fold on the road all the time.

Offense bails us out at home but never plays well on the road, 7 points in 2 quarters.

it's like people on here just want to throw around blame, and they don't realize what kind of situation we are dealing with....

I've been watching football for a long time and I'm not sure I've ever seen an injury situation this bizarre. And, it's like they just keep coming.

This defense is beyond pathetic.

Fire the bunch, go to a bar in Nola, find 4 big guys, 4 fast guys, 3 tough guys and one loud drunk to be the defense of coordinator and we'd be better off

3rd and very long and give up a 1st down? Why play zone? Bump and run all day ... it don't matter who we have on defense. This scheme and coaching isn't getting it done.

Injuries or not, this is still a bad defensive bunch.

As bad is the D is, and we can throw most of the other side of the ball under the bus as well. We still were in it until that player from Alabama dropped the ball. Then the one from, Auburn got the 15 yrd flag. That one sealed it.
I guess my point is, can't trust anyone from bama or auburn on this team.

I mean the 2nd half I felt like our defense did a great job... we had the clock stopped before the 2 minute warning and we get a dumb penalty that was uncalled for it was no need for it... when Breaux gets back man that's going to be a huge help

themselves out running over us in the first half. Hey maybe that's

They will not have a standout in this unit at anytime this year.

The unit as a whole will never be a force.

But as a functioning unit they are better than the day one against Oakland.

2014-2016 has been damn near identical thus far. Different players, same results. It is very apparent the problem lies elsewhere.

Take away the pick-6, we win 21-20.
Take away the fumble, we probably win 28-17.
Defense played good enough to win.
And they still can't tackle, and they still can't cover.
Can't get off the field on 3rd and 17 yet AGAIN.
That has to hurt somewhere; I'm not getting paid and I can't stand it.
We will be fighting every week to outscore our opponent.
Because of the defense, the offense can't afford giveaways.
As ugly as it was, the defense played good enough for a win.

Healthy or not, this defense lacks a physical/aggressive defender. We play soft .. there is little aggression. I rarely see guys (Vonn Bell has shown he can) flying to the ball, trying to impose their will on the opponent. How about trying to punch the ball out (sure as hell worked to perfection for KC), or stripping? JByrd simply plays like a guy who doesn't want to get hurt (see the Ware tackle attempt). At least trip the guy ... something. I recall Jon Gruden calling him out weeks ago and I'm paraphrasing here - "he is a total liability out there".

It's time for change ... our D line / linebacker coaches aren't getting it done. This is shaping up to be another sub .500 season.

I thought the O line did a decent job in protecting Brees (only allowed one sack) & Michael Thomas needs to be a front runner for rookie of the year. I see a potential #1 WR in the making.

We need to add a few really good CB's, a solid NB, a relentless pass rusher, and some push up the middle.

Duh we all know they suck. The difference from the last two years and this year is the fact that the last two years defenses sucked with our starters in. This year they suck because the majority of them have no business starting in the NFL at this point in their careers. Suckage is suckage but this years defense is a little easier to swallow.

I wrote this season off after game 2. No sense getting all worked up over it. You could see we weren't gonna do anything after those first 2 games. SP needs to cut Byrd and Laurinitus immediately as well as Hills and get some replacements before the trade deadline. SP needs to get his fire back and show these players that this kind of play won't be tolerated.

We can't improve our team when we trade away draft picks every year.
We need more picks, 5-6 is not enough.

We need to beef up the O line, literally overhaul the defense and draft a true running back that looks for open field, not the back of his linemans legs.
