The New Orleans Saints*will not get quarterback Joe Callahan back after the Cleveland Browns claimed the rookie quarterback off waivers Monday, according to the NFL transaction wire.

The Saints waived Callahan on Saturday to promote linebacker Chris McCain from the practice squad.*

I figured he'd get picked up when we waived him. Pisses me off too. All because half our team is injured. Grrrrrr.

Just this weekend I was telling my wife that Leonard Fournette just might not go pro after this season for this very reason. Think about it, with the Browns season they are a shoe in for pick 1. Who wants to be the first pick if it's Cleveland on the phone?

That wouldn't have helped. The Saints had to clear an active roster spot to bring McClain up. Grayson was on the practice squad. Callahan had to be on the active roster since he was claimed off another team's practice squad which prevented him from being placed on the Saints practice squad this season.

I guess if Callahan was a great prospect, Green Bay would have never exposed him to waivers, and then the Saints would not have either. Hope things work out for him in Cleveland, he has a good opportunity working with Hue Jackson.

he had a nice little film clip on him, but that long pass that the whole tape is about was a jump ball, that happily lands in packers arms, hes a pipe dream and it probably was a big tuna experiment again.

You do not make a waiver claim then in hind sight realize you want that player on the PS. if you thought you could do it why did you make the claim in the first place. Obviously the claim was made because you thought he would not clear in the first place
