Ken Crawley deserves some credit

He made two of the biggest tackles in terms of game situation yesterday.

First was 3rd and 10, ricardo Lockett on an out route seemed to have the edge, Crawley ran him down and forced the Hawks to kick a FG late in the 4th quarter.

The second was the inexcusable lapse in defense with about 30 seconds to go, Byrd missed a back breaking tackle and Baldwin was off to the races. Crawley once again tracked him down and we held tough in the redzone.

Nate Stupars Pick was very sweet indeed, the low salary signings always seem to work out the best for us!

Well done Ken, job well done. I'm sure Aaron Glenn agrees.

Edit: Mr. Lutz is living up to the "hype" coach Payton gave him early on in the season. Pretty solid kicker we have in New Orleans.

Just imagine this secondary with Lewis, Breaux, PJWilliams, Swann, KWilson, and Sterling Moore thrown back in the mix.

We have some solid young talent, and we are on the up. I'm very pleased with our prospects. Some defensive push up front and hey, we're contenders!

I saw a rumor about us trading for Joe Haden.

I agree completely. If we can get consistent pressure on the QB the result will be a major improvement in our secondary.

Go back to the SB. Though we never sacked Manning our D line continuously collapsed the pocket, forcing short passes and preventing him from stepping into his throws.

That's about all it is ... a rumor. As JP stated yesterday, we don't need another CB on the roster. We need more defensive ends/pass rushers.

Did you notice Seattle's Frank Clark yesterday? That kid is a friggin monster. Sign me up for one of those type of impact players at DE.

We definitely need pass rushers, but the thought of Breaux and Haden at corner is more than enough temptation for me to bite.

Supposed to get Rankins back next week. From what I saw of him at Louisville he seems to have a lot of potential. If we could just get some consistent pressure then I believe our young backs could do quite well.
Still think we can win this division...

I will stand up and give the kid some props. Actual thought he stood no chance getting off the PS as a CB even with injuries.

I still have FS/CB as a home for him down the road.

hats off to him

Crawley made some mistakes in coverage on numerous plays, but he definitely made some very good tackles. He actually seems to be one of the better tacklers on the team. And he isn't that big. Goes to show that tackling is about heart. If he can become at least solid in coverage, he could be a very good nickel corner in the future, with an ability to play up close and make an impact against the run and screen game.

It was nice to see Lutz not either missing a kick or shanking a PAT just barely over the cross bar or off the upright. I haven't been impressed with him all season, but in this game his kicks were true. Hopefully he's got the mental part down now.

This ^^^^^^. Completely agree.

Moore seems like more of a nickel guy than Crawley. But, I hope he continues to grow this season. Williams and Swann can't be counted on to see the field.

This kid has a great future ahead of him. Man, we look good on the back end even with 6th stringers playing. Ken Crawley you impressed me with your impact plays.
