Sean Payton says Tim Hightower will get more carries after Sunday's showing

Payton said the intent after Ingram had a fumble returned for a touchdown in the first quarter was not to keep the 26-year-old starter on the sideline for the remainder of the contest, limiting him to six snaps.

Its up to Ingram to now go out there and put in an excellent performance against the 49ers. A bit of RB competition in the team will probably be a good thing in the long run!

Agree. But, I just wish we could go with the hot hand more.

Trade him to Green Bay. Or Denver, Minnesota, or Baltimore.
A lot of teams are thin right now, and his value will never be higher.
Bottom line, we are talking about a guy who averages 600 yards a year, cries when he doesn't get the ball, and has not consistently shown that he is a dominant runner.
Take advantage of the market and say goodbye

What can he do that he hasn't done yet? How does he not run into his blockers?

ATLANTA — Mark Ingram’s apparent temper tantrum turned into touchdowns Sunday afternoon, a negative morphed into a positive for the Saints offense.

Ingram, known for his outward emotions on the field, watched portions of this regular season-opening loss to Atlanta separated from his teammates — standing nearly 20 feet away from a sideline cluster, likely disgruntled by his smaller-than-expected role during the first three quarters.

CLEVELAND — Ever since television cameras caught Saints running back Mark Ingram throwing what appeared to be a temper tantrum on the sideline during a 37-34 Saints defeat in Atlanta on Sept. 7, the public has been trying to figure out what may have gotten the New Orleans running back so heated.
