Report: Saints made a play for Joe Haden before*deadline
Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Saints “made a play” for Haden before the deadline. Per Werder, they ultimately decided the price the Browns*wanted them to pay was higher than they were willing to go.
New Orleans have been without Delvin Breaux for several weeks because of a broken leg and Sterling Moore missed last week’s game with an abdomen injury, leaving the Saints with undrafted free agent Ken Crawley and B.W. Webb in lead roles against the Seahawks in Week Eight. Haden*would have upgraded that group, but the Saints will have to go with what’s already on hand and hope Breaux can return to action instead. I glad we didn't get Haden if we actually tried. He missed most of last season with concussions and has been battling a groin injury all of this season.
