Problems with top prospects

This draft worries me. I see too many problems with the top prospects at certain positions the Saints might be interested in. I think the depth at OT is weak. Im not yet sold on Jamaal Brown or anyone else in the class. None of the top prospects look like the road grader we need at RT. At LB, outside DJ, Davis and Burnett are both converted safeties and Blackstock played in a 3-4 scheme at UVA. At DT, Johnson's is more of a one gap player whose forte is not stopping the run and I see Antaj Hawthorne as the second coming of Jonathan Sullivan, overweight and lazy. Shaun Cody from USC is also not a run stuffer. Thus the more I look at it, the more I like the idea of trading down(barring some miracle that we could get DJ). I know this idea has been posted already, but I just felt the need to share my worries. And how do you guys put the cool little picutres on the side of your posts? I want that.

BRSF, why you rippin\' on my boy Hawthorne. He played hurt this year, unlike teammate James, which slowed him down a little. Hawthorne was productive in most games, and he was good against the pass and the run. Maybe I\'m a bit on the biased side, but I thought he was a pretty solid player in all.

Davis is built like a LB, even if he hasn\'t played there that much. The difference between SS and WLB is mostly in defeating blocks and diagnosing plays a bit more quickly. I think he could make the transition, though, I\'m inclined to agree that I don\'t like the guys who have less experience at the position we want them to play.

Brown looks like a stud. I also like Johnson-Dt and johnson-Lb, also not sold on Hawthorne.

No doubt that Hawthorne is a productive player and maybe the injuries had a bit to do with him not being in great shape and taking plays off, but I still have nightmares of trading two first rounders for Sullivan and thus am a little skeptical. My only knock on my buddy from FSU is that the way that the Seminoles rotate in so many players in their defense. Thus, Johnson was constantly fresh. Plus I waited for 4 years for him to come around to live up to the hype he had when he was recruited. Not sure that one year of productivity can soothe my fears. But then again he was playing in the shadow of Darnell Dockett his whole career so who know.s
