He wasn't 3rd round good but it's hard to believe he wasn't worthy of being on the roster. Rankins just got back. Davison has been injured. To me, their had to be a behind the scenes component to the story. It also adds another 140K to next years dead money.

Davison, Rankins, Fairley were out-performing him. He had potential, but we probably needed the roster spot

Unfortunately we used the pick we got in the Chris Ivory deal to trade back into the 3rd round to draft this guy. Man I wish we had just kept Ivory.

Exactly. Big Strong LAZY NT summed him up coming out of college.

Jesse Williams NT Alabama was the NT I ranked ahead of him.

His first two seasons were cut short by knee injuries and last May Williams was diagnosed with Papillary Type 2 cancer, a setback that forced him to have a kidney removed weeks later.

JJ is roughly 6'3 & 345+ lbs ... signs point to leverage issues. A man that large shouldn't be blocked out of a rush lane as often as he was so far this season. He was very ineffective. No surprise the coaches saw that at practice/game day film and decided to cut him.

Didn't work out & it was time to move on and we did.
