Is it time to Fire SP. I am not asking if we will fire him because I don't see that as a reality, but should we fire him if we have another losing season?

This will definitely be our third straight losing season, no way are we winning 4 straight games.

How did Payton get a 5 year extension on the back end of two 7-9 seasons? Yes he should get fired, we play with zero passion. Lions looked like they actually wanted to win the game, saints only showed up.

I think we thought we were not who we thought we were. We were slowly roadgraded today on bothsides of the ball. This didn't look like a good team today, we looked thin all over, lots of holes. Got to give credit to the Lions, they are tough.

I was as disappointed in Drew today as anyone else.

When we started off 0-3, the season was in jeopardy. We were left with little margin for error.

Today answered the question about this offense. We run a complicated system, Brees can't beat a team head on. Payton's system looks awful against any team with a semblance of a pass rush.

Not much will change next year.

Maybe Payton gets a passion for the game again, maybe we pick some solid D players up. That could turn things around. It all depends on if Payton has the drive and passion back, which he clearly hasn't had since 2011.

The bigger point, Payton and CO aren't going anywhere. Benson is not competent enough to fire Payton, it should be done but it won't be. Loomis is just a glorified calculator, he has little to do with who we pick in the draft or FAs that we sign.

Five tasks the Saints need to do this offseason...

First, Relieve Loomis of GM duties, responsibilities and put someone in there (e.g. Ireland) who will have more power (veto) than Payton on personnel matters, both players and coaches; if this doesn't move Coach off his comfortable spot and put himself on "Competition Street", then it may be too late...

Second, We've got some serious liabilities on the coaching staff (e.g. McMahon/Kwan (Special Teams), Vitt (Linebackers), Johnson (Defensive Line) that need to be addressed...

Third, there are some scouts that need to answer for some of the misses in both Free Agency as well in the draft; I'd find replacements for Terry Fontenot, Ryan Powell, Michael Parenton, Jon Sandusky, Joey Vitt...

Fourth, in free agency the priority targets should be RG Kevin Zeitler (Cincinnati), DT Nick Fairley (New Orleans), QB Brian Hoyer (Chicago), LB Kiko Alonso (Miami), TE Ryan Griffin (Houston)...

Fifth, to retain some upcoming free agents, we may have to entertain the thought of trading or releasing some high-priced veterans who are now peaking out or oft-injured (e.g. Cam Jordan, Terron Armstead) and getting top value for need in return...
