this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The deadline to get a long term deal done for him has come and gone. I am very disturbed by this although some may be happy we got stuck keeping him. We may still be able to work something out ...

Looks like we are stuck with Howard, for now
The deadline to get a long term deal done for him has come and gone. I am very disturbed by this although some may be happy we got stuck keeping him. We may still be able to work something out after July 15th and trade him for picks next year, but this does not help us at all in this year's draft. I also wonder how this will effect contract negotiations with some other key players. :(
