For everyone that has ever posted 'Trade Brees' or anything similar!

The truth is Brees is a victim of his environment. A defense that has been catastrophically bad – to the point that they’ve been in the discussion as all time worst units the last couple of years. His head coach and his general manager have failed to build around him. What we’ve seen is elite performance wasted and we’re seeing it again this year. Remember that when you watch the last two games of another Brees season to remember. One that you will likely*never see again from a Saints passer in your lifetime when he’s gone.

All of you that have been lambasting Brees over the past few weeks or any of you that gave any credence to the article by La Canfora stating that Brees was in decline need to read the article behind the link. I know that many of you won't and will lazily believe whatever can be found in short summarized posts by unknowing hacks.

I can agree with a lot of this article but there have been games this season he has looked nowhere near the word elite. Some of the better ds have made him look less than average.

There have been games where every elite QB didn't look elite. Any QB will struggle when given no time at all in the pocket.

Carl Nicks and healthy Evans made a big difference versus Kelemente and old Evans.

First, let me preface my statement by pointing out that Drew Brees is one of the top QB's in the league. He is phenomenal and we will miss him when he is gone.

Here is an issue I found with some making comments on here. You want to blame the Oline for how Drew played at times this year, but then you go around on this board and tell everyone how good the oline has been this year. You will even put up articles to back your opinion. All I say to this is you can't have it both ways, but undoubtedly you will.

It just sucks Brees has gone three straight years out of the playoffs because of our idiotic coach. There's just no way to make up for those three years missed.

I've been talking about missed opportunities for many years when it comes to the Saints. When a team has an elite QB like Brees, they should be pushing for Super Bowls every year. The 2006 and obviously the 2009 seasons were highly successful, 2010, 2011, and 2013 to me were great teams that underachieved and became mistake prone in the post season. Now we are talking 3 years straight of not even having a winning season, and now 6 times in 11 years. Let that sink in for a minute...
