Playoffs ... and "we're back!".

9 or 10 wins will not cut it. It's super bowl or bust.

If they win the sb we will not play them week 1. Also, free agency has not even started yet.

Re: 2017 Saints Schedule

So I'm going to analyze this schedule

Starting with the NFC North( we have to be able to show we can win out of the division)
Last year we went 4-0 against NFC West. We have better record against NFC divisions than AFC recently. However, I don't see us winning in GB right now, but the weakness(and Brees' weakness which we just may have to accept) is Minnesota more than GB. But I do think we have at least one here against Chicago. We have to be able to play defense against Minnesota and hope it goes our way or get over the pathetic showings against Detroit. 2-2.

AFC East
Our biggest problem has been against the AFC. We have gone 2-2, 2-2, 1-3, 2-2, and 1-3 since 2011. We have won at least one road game last three seasons and I expect we will win in London against Miami. But Buffalo is not in the same vein as KC, Houston, and Cleveland(did I just say that? That year was a mess). Buffalo has a at times good defense and that could be a issue but the offense relies on limited playmakers I feel a better defense could make this game what it was in 2009. It was a struggle until late. However, Buffalo has Watkins so there's the risk. I think the chances of winning this are better than the chances were of beating KC and Houston. We have had trouble at home. We should have beaten Tennessee in 2015 though. But NYJ, who is going into a odd number year with a fluctuating winning or .500/losing season streak since 2011, is closer to Jacksonville than Oakland or the AFC North teams we played. So I see 2-2 for sure. And NE is too big of a home game that if we lose that we know season we are in for. I'm going to go 3-1(numerically I think it will be 2-2 or 4-0).

So we have 5 wins between those two divisions, that equals up to the same thing as last year but 4 wins the two years before.

But this has been another big issue, our placement games.
We have lost to Detroit, Detroit, SF, and SF four of the last five years. The team we are hosting this year.......Washington. But if we're winning we can get another rare win against them. But Washington will be a challenge.
We have lost at NYG, Arizona, Dallas, and GB four of last five years. the funny thing is all but one of them were close(against 2014). This year, we go to the LA Rams. We struggled last two road games against them and Payton won't have that chip on his shoulder with Williams gone. This game again will come down to us showing up on defense because Brees is gonna struggle.

I don't like the third place schedule and really preferred the second place one with giants and cardinals, easier matchups for us. But we have to go 2-0(because it's that or 0-2) here. The wins here determine the advantage in the division. 2-0.

Now our division, we have gotten the luxury of sweeping one each season, getting swept by one, and splitting with another. Last year we swept no one. Next year, it's our turn again to sweep Atlanta. And we will probably split with TB. Carolina determines 4-2 or 5-1 because I don't see a sweep by anyone unless it's TB. By winning four games here, we go 11-5 with the possibility of 12-4.

If we beat the pats, we could very well sweep the AFC East. If we can beat Minnesota or Detroit, we could go 2-2. I just don't know if we beat both and go 3-1.

And it's paramount to win the placement games. This should be our first priority because it's not only placement games it's two teams we've had the worst luck against(yes we beat the rams last year but it was at home. Those games cannot be overlooked.

Anything short of the playoffs and I can almost guarantee they will blow it up and go full rebuild.

You cannot be serious. That is ludicrous. There is no way in hell that would happen.

Well, if history stays at a constant, the teams we play this upcoming season will all be among playoff contenders next season...

You just assume control of your destiny beginning in Week 1, one game at a time...
