Looking at that, we may be in trouble?

Jimmy Garappolo - 1st and 4th?

Dick Nolan - Russell Erxleben

Jim Mora - Shawn Knight

Mike Ditka - Alex Molden also responsible for the "Billy Joe" era or error?

Hey I didn't mind the Billy Joe's! Hell Hobert was decent at the time. He wasn't a game changer, but serviceable. At least that's how I remember it. I actually didn't mind that era. Not sure why. Maybe because I was younger and full of hope. Lol.

History has a tendency to repeat itself. But in this case it is irrelevant.

My two favorite areas of interest, history and the NFL. To a degree you are correct. General parameters surrounding historical situations do indeed have that tendancy. That is primarily due to the fact that human beings are just that ... human beings. We are all basically the same. Given enough time history will "repeat itself" because with all of the many permutations possible, it cannot help but repeat past events or leanings to a very similar degree.

Human history is a tad bit longer than that of the NFL (which, by the way is less than that of the CFL), therefore the chances of future events deviating from those of past experience is, in fact, very probable.

That is why, in this case, you are absolutely correct, it is all irrelevant.

Personally, I loved the Billy Joe's. Especially Tolliver. I got to know that Billie Joe when he was the starting QB for the Shreveport Pirates of the CFL in 1995. He was always so kind to my son, also a redhead, and I was so excited when he got the Saints gig a few years later.

I too was a big fan of Billy Joe Tolliver. If Ditka would have developed some patience with sticking with a QB, Tolliver would have been a fine starter and could have eventually bridged the job over to Delhomme. But anyway, that is many moons ago. As for those historical 11th picks, I usually claim to not be superstitious, but in this case I will say move the pick either up or down, just get rid of it. Exreleben is excuse enough to never pick 11 again...
