Exactly. The Patriots simply take it one step further and do not have anyone with the official title of GM. They have someone that does exactly the same job as Loomis though, and their duty is to handle cap related issues. Payton runs the whole show. That has been stated many times by those "in the know".

True Dat! Payton runs the show. The thing is Payton needs a handler to reign in his gambling tendencies. Most of the good franchises have a football knowledgeable GM who is qualified to lead the coach to the right decision.

If this is true then everything that has gone wrong is his fault, and there is a lot of **** that has gone wrong. And he is on the hott seat bad, hence all of his firings. That was management telling him, right this ship or you are next

Get used to it. It is what it is. It isn't going to change. The only persons that can make that change are the Bensons and you'll never see it from them.

It has been written her many times that the New Orleans Saints football franchise is extremely profitable. As long as the Dome is full of paying customers I can't see the Benson Empire risking changing that any time soon. Unless the team really tanks no major shakeups will take place at least for now.

This is the absolute truth. 7-9 records from now until hell refreezes will never turn the Bensons off of Payton. 7-9 records will not keep the Dome from being sold out every season. Aftermarket (the only way you can get them without having season tickets) tickets are just as hard to get monetarily as they were five years ago. I know. We price them all the time.
