Who Are The Best Coaching Candidates?

I looked but didn't find a thread about the candidates to fill our coaching vacancies. I've see some really good things posted in various threads and hoped we could get a discussion going about who is best qualified and what skills we want to see them bring to the table. I'm not very knowledgeable about the coaching prospects but I like the fire that Singletary brought to SF linebackers before losing it as head coach.

I have a feeling that Payton already has replacements in mind. He's not the sort to make that sort of move without a plan in place. That leads me to think that whomever he has in mind are, or were, still in play this weekend. And that could include the college ranks.

Whoever they are I hope they do much better than the good ole boys did. I'm wondering if any of the good ole boys find jobs?

No. College, maybe, but not even any of the D1 Head Coaching job openings.

These guys were/are not NFL-level assistant coaches.

Still like Singletary and Tomsula as position coaches.

I would think that Vitt would think about retiring, but I have a feeling he isn't as financially fit as many may think. He can easily get a college job somewhere. The others could all easily go college at different levels, and possibly even pro gigs with other friends in the business. It isn't always what you know, as we all know, it is who you know. That's the way it always goes in virtually every realm.

Tomsula, once a hot name, is out of coaching... if he's so good, why is he not coaching somwhere?

After the Niners fired Jim from his HC duties, he got paid handsomely. No surprise he isn't coaching right now. Very good D line coach though.

Because he isnt a good head coach. Actually the ghostvof Vince Lombardi couldnt help the 49ers with their front office. Ehat he is though is a very good D-Linw coach
