LSU No. 3 for most 2017 NFL Draft talent
LSU is ranked No. 3 in college football programs with the most talent in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com.
The Tigers came in behind only No. 1 Michigan and Alabama with 12 players listed as likely draft picks. Here is what NFL.com said about the Tigers: "It's another talent-filled draft class for the Tigers, who have had the second-most players selected in the draft since 2005 (72, only behind USC's 78). Jamal Adams and Leonard Fournette could give the school two top-five selections for the first time since 1960 (Billy Cannon, Johnny Robinson). ![]() Malachi Dupre and Davon Godchaux could prove to be excellent second- or third-round steals if team needs and the stacked underclassmen group prevent them from being called as early as expected." Early rounds: S Jamal Adams, WR Malachi Dupre, RB Leonard Fournette, C Ethan Pocic Middle rounds: LB Kendell Beckwith (injury), WR Travin Duval, DL Davon Godchaux, CB Tre'Davious White Late rounds: OG Josh Boutte, TE Colin Jeter, DE Lewis Neal, LB Duke Riley Another possible draft pick is Tigers defensive back Dwayne Thomas. Since Saints don't draft LSU, no matter | |

I'm a Ole Miss fan anyway but the Tiggers do have a OG thats not bad. I wanted Alexander last year off their O line. In all fairness the Falcons got a pretty good lb. from them that totally flew under my radar. Some good talent has come out of there, I can't really knock them but I'm no fan either.

yall mean to tell me if fournette falls to 11 payton won't grab his arse. do yall remember deuce on the loose who i believe helped change the culture of our struggling franchise back when. I know payton came later but deuce was a bull to recon with. mark ingram could bring good value in trade. lol i hope i'm not starting a war here, but sean is no lsu buff so no matter . i'm a fill a need guy in the draft. but BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE, never hurts a team.

Yeah and cross your fingers LF doesn't end up somewhere like Carolina where we would face him twice a year.

Re: LSU No. 3 for most 2017 NFL Draft talent
Best player available for one team is a waste of a pick for another. Our needs are so far more for the uglies up front that can make holes for the RB, that close up the holes for the other team's RB and the LBs that put the hammer to those RBs... Hell, I'd even argue that we should pick a very good TE before considering a RB.
Sorry, but LF is far from the second coming. He was average at best against good teams. His stats are mostly against the bottom feeders. Anybody still remember Brady Quinn? |

You can evaluate players from a box score. Some of the most impressive runs I saw him make were against Bama and he just back to the line of scrimmage. That defense was keyed up for the entire season, waiting for the LSU game. You can't fault him for that, not when his O-Line gets blown off the ball every snap for four quarters. Fournette is a generational talent. I only recall one dropped pass his 3 years at LSU. He spent the summer working on pass blocking. I recall several plays where he saw a defender some free and he improvised to pick him up. Nothing as big as he is should move as fast as he does. They expect him to run a 4.3/40. If he does, he's gone by the 5th pick. To say LF is "average" against good teams is kind of funny to me. Woe to the teams that skip him with their pick. If Fournette and a very good edge rusher are available, I take the edge rusher. If the best edge rusher isn't top notch, I take Fournette. In saying all of that ... give me Barnett 11 ![]() |
