Joe Horn Trade Value

Since Joe is being Joe and is making plans to hold out as long as it takes to get top 5 money, I think we should stop debating as to whether or not he deserves more money and start talking about what Joe might bring in a trade.

To me, Joe doesn't seem like he'd be worth much more than a #2. Maybe a #2 and a solid veteran at the most.

I've heard some people say that Joe would bring us at least one #1 in a trade. I see that as something Saints fans do better than any other fans in the league, wishful thinking. To really believe that a team would give up a precious first round pick for an aging, me first player is just foolish.

Of course I'd like for there to be a way the FO could make Joe happy without losing what little respect they have left. If they were to give in to Joe and throw big time money at an over the hill brat, what kind of a message would that send the rest of the team? Then alot of guys on the team would say that they hate their contract and start pouting so they could get what they want.

Anyway what do ya'll think Joe is worth at this point in his career in the trade market?

I\'d give Joe and a first next year to get a high first this year and take Mike Williams. Hell Joe and a 4th this year plus a first next year. Anything I can scrape by without giving our first, second, or 3rd this year. Too deep on defense in the draft this year. Not likely at all, but i\'d still try.

Come on dude. That\'s too much to give up for Mike Williams. Mike Williams is no Randy Moss. And I\'m not sure he\'ll even be a probowler ever.

You\'re kidding right? Too much for Mike Williams? Seriously? Have you seen this guy? He is a FREAK. He may not be as fast as Randy, but there aren\'t any corners who are gonna beat him for the ball. Besdies, surely you don\'t think Joe alone can draw a top 10 pick? You would HAVE to give the other team a reason to do it, just saying he\'s Joe Horn ain\'t gonna but it. But I have a hard time believing you have ever seen Mike Williams play. That kid is phenomenal.

Personally, I don\'t think you\'d get near enough for Joe Horn in a trade. Too many people doubt him. Every year, the experts talk about his age, his damaged body, his antics, etc. Every year, he makes them eat their words but still they predict he\'ll fail.

I think he wouldn\'t pull much juice in a trade.

I\'m no expert on the guy. I did, however, see him play a couple of times. And I\'ve read a lot on the guy.

He runs a 4.56/40 (slow by NFL standards. His strength is his size and leaping abiltiy.

Hey, I think he\'ll be a good NFL receiver. But, I\'ve thought the samething about other great colllege receivers.

What guarantees can you give me that he\'ll put up probowl numbers in the NFL?

Horn for a bag of dorritos if he can\'t shut his mouth.

horn is a good player, but honestly is hurting himself bigtime by his lack of self-control of his tongue.

Funny baron. ;)

Gumbo, about as much guarantee as I can that Joe won\'t blow his knee out next year, or that Joe won\'t sit out like McCardell next year, which is none. I can tell you by what scouts and NFL experts say, this kid is gonna be legit. He is for real. He is a stud. Jerry Rice ran a 4.6 forty. This kid flat out makes plays. I could care less about his 40 speed. I\'d take the word of NFL experts who feel he could be dominant for the next 10 years for less money(less for at least the 3 years we would be paying Joe were we to keep him) than Joe being maybe good for the next 3.

mike williams is going to be a very good football player for someone. IMO he is the best wideout in the draft.

I think that the QB turned receiver is going to be a nice pickup for someone later in the draft as well.

the kid from UAB is also a very good player..
