Peyton Manning might not be the only superstar NFL quarterback in Washington ... Drew Brees tells TMZ Sports he's also open to the idea of running for office after he hangs up the cleats.

The 38-year-old QB is like a living God in New Orleans and is incredibly involved in the community -- so, when we saw him at LAX, we asked if he'd thought about politics after his days with the Saints are over.
"It won't be the first thing I do, but I'm not gonna rule it out," Brees told us.

Imagine the outrage amongst Saints fans if he were liberal. Pretty damn sure he isn't but that would alieanate a lot of fans.

By the time he puts his hat into politics, he'll be long gone out of here.
And here's an indicator.......... he's involved with Jimmy John's.

Along with his trademarked submarine sandwiches and kosher pickles, Downstate fast-food mogul Jimmy John Liautaud,
is serving up some spicy don't-tread-on-me politics and big dollops of GOP campaign contributions these days.

If he wins another Super Bowl in a Saints uniform, he could be just about guaranteed Louisiana Governor.

Especially when you have no problem posting lies as speculation as hacks like La Canfora and Rapoport do on a daily basis.

I'd definitely vote for Brees if he was a liberal. And, that deflate-gate-Trumpster-fire voting Tom Brady can stick a deflated football where the sun don't shine. F the Pats and Roger Goodell.

No. I would expect him to do what American politicians are expected to do ... listening to his constituents and doing what they want. America wasn't designed to be led by career politicians. All early governmental leaders were farmers, shop owners, doctors, soldiers, lawyers or ship builders. They were not politicians.

I'm quite certain Bree's is a Lib.
And me, if he has a D by his name, he can win the next 10 Super Bowls, I'm not voting for him. I will never trust a politician with a D by his name, let alone vote for one.

Actually, it seems he runs in conservative circles.

Our current president was never a politician. It is what our founding fathers wanted. Now if we could just get term limits in the senate so those actual professional politicians could be sent to the curb ...

And how could you know that? ;) I really think Americans are getting fed up by professional politicians and that is probably what sunk Hillary. We need elected officials that aren't doing it solely for the money. Brees would fit that bill.
