Morten Andersen finally boots his way into Pro Football Hall of Fame!

3rd Saint in the NFL Hall of Fame

He finally got the votes needed after coming up short the previous four years.
Andersen was a finalist for the Hall of Fame in the last four years. Andersen has
become the second true kicker to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jan Stenerud
was the first kicker elected in 1991.

The "Great Dane," as he is nicknamed, is a native of Copenhagen, Denmark. During his
career, Andersen played for five teams and kicked in the NFL for 25 seasons. Andersen
spent 13 seasons in the Crescent City with the New Orleans Saints. He is known for being
the all-time leading scorer for the Black and Gold and the Atlanta Falcons, with whom he
spent a combined eight seasons.

I got the pleasure to meet him at an Arizona road game in 1993, he signed a football my dad had caught when Mort completely missed the net during a game a couple years before vs Chicago. Not only did he sign the ball but he treated us with class and talked with us for a couple seconds

New Orleans Fans were treated to two of the greatest place kickers of all time. Tulane's Eddie Murray and Morten Andersen of the Saints.

Wow I am stoked! We are very blessed to have him going in as a Saint after such an amazing and long career! He also seems like a very well-spoken man. Congrats Mort, go join fellow Michigan State alum Magic Johnson in your sport's Hall of Fame!

Falcons fan forums are claiming him as a Falcon HOF'er. I saw that coming. Everyone else sees him as a Saint.

Falcons fans have a right to be happy, Mort gave them some very good years too. But Saints drafted him and he scored 500+ more points for the Saints. No-brainer to go in as a Saint.

NFL players don't go into the Hall of Fame based off of team like with MLB. They go in based off of position that played for XYZ team

Remember my cousins (girls) and their friends (girls, one boy) fawning over these two...

When Mort first opened his restaurant at Lakeside, I was constantly out-voted to go their by my cousins...

..., then the Saints started marketing the Ladies 18-35 crowd and I was crapping mozzarella the whole hour back home after every visit to the city...

Jeff Duncan does have a great sense of humour...
