The #1 takeaway from the Super Bowl
Patriots got way way behind because they threw the ball too much when their passing game was off. Led to the pick 6 and multiple drive-wrecking sacks in the first half and a little ways into the 3rd. And during the comeback, the goalline pass to Bennett was nearly intercepted ... the Pats nearly Seattle'd themselves!
Falcons got pass-happy despite the fact they were leading big and that Freeman was roasting the Pats defense almost every time he touched the ball on the edge. Being pass-happy will come back to bite you in the ass and it bit both the Pats and the Falcons in the same game! There are going to be a few teams in the NFL that will get the memo and reap the benefits if they commit to running the ball and run it fairly well. Let's hope we are one of those teams. |

Plus running a prevent Defense and then they blinked, killer turnover and game on.

Re: The #1 takeaway from the Super Bowl
I thought the touchdown in OT should have been challenged. How come no one said anything?

Learned? TE depth, solid if not great receiving back is key. OG play is huge. Tall CB have value. running stuffing and setting the edge is key. LB play has to be solid not flashy. solid safety that excels at tacking and stuffing the hole. Their is the off season shopping list for the saints to beat the falcons based on how the pats won. OG TE RB CB LB FS DT DE |

#1 takeaway is that speed kills. We need more speed.

My #1 takeaway is Tom Brady is probably the best QB to play the game...

Side note - my thoughts & prayers are extended to Mrs. Brady. Having lost my mother to cancer, that's a tougher fight than Tom has ever faced. |

Re: The #1 takeaway from the Super Bowl
Yeah I usually would debate who is the best QB of all time but after this SB I have changed my opinion... it is the one and only TOM BRADY.

Re: The #1 takeaway from the Super Bowl
My main take away from this game was Matty Ice made some terrible mistakes. Agreed that the play call was hot garbage on that second to last drive the clowns had. But man you can't take a sack and lose 13 yards. Then the line jumps offsides and makes it 3rd and 33! Then he throws a terrible pass and it's incomplete. Then they punt!!!! Wtf?! Lol!
It was the ultimate team unraveling! It's like everyone **** themselves. Then the defense let's the Pats go like 91 yards for the tying score! I agree that the Pats hung in there and didn't give up. And they came up with some big plays. But the Falcons made the mistake of thinking the game was over at the end of three quarters. They handed it to them. I thought it was hilarious! |

The young RB for NE ... James White. He came up big for them in crucial moments. 4th rounder from Wisconsin. The Pats always seem to draft players that fit their system and the train keeps rolling.
I hope the Saints FO target a joker/RB type scatback this upcoming draft. |

Re: The #1 takeaway from the Super Bowl
The Failcons are a more complete team than we are because of our pitiful drafting and free agent acquisitions. But we are going to find out how improved we are when Payton fields next years team. There needs to be a substantial improvement on defense for us to challenge The Dirty Birds.

players after the game talking about running hills during the 23rd week of the season? That's what did in the failclowns in the end. They were flying around the ball for 3 qtrs. but petered out in the 4th and the pats destroyed them. Saints bring back training camp to MS and the heat and humidity of the gulf south and our players will only be stronger for it. |

I kinda knew they would but thought it be hard for Patriots to win even then. Falcons have been pretty bad in the 4th qtr all year, but they were ahead enough to pull it out, they didnt get up enough on the Patriots to pull this one out though. |
