Grading the defensive talent in 2004?
I was wondering how everyone would grade the talent we had on defense in 2004? I gave everyone a grade from 'A' to 'F'. I based my grades on the overall talent of the player AND their performance from last year.
Are my grades off? Starting Defense in 2004: LDE 94 Grant, Charles - B DT 95 Green, Howard - D DT 66 Young, Brian - D RDE 93 Howard, Darren - B SLB 50 Allen, James - D MLB 55 Watson, Courtney - D WLB 57 Bockwoldt, Colby - C LCB 34 McKenzie, Mike - B SS 20 Bellamy, Jay - D FS 34 Jones, Tebucky - D RCB 35 Brown, Fahkir - C |
Grading the defensive talent in 2004?
Hmmm...
Grant - A- (78 tackles and 7.5 sacks - damn!) Young - C+ (Plays like he is smaller than he is, but what a motor) Sullivan - F (F... for Flop) Howard - B (11 sacks and he missed at least 3 games) Allen - D (Has played 5 good games in three years, little starting experience) Watson - C+ (Solid tackler, learning, good size and speed) Bockwoldt - NA (four games isn\'t enough to evaluate) McKenzie - A (this guys is the shiznit) Bellamy - B- (solid tackler, knowledgeable, getting old) Jones - C (learned to tackle, took away the deep ball) Brown - C- (serviceable #2, learning, good size) |
Grading the defensive talent in 2004?
bockwoldt can play. i know he only played 4 games but he played the same way those 4 games as he did in preseason. i could 100% be wrong but if we let this guy go i really believe he will be a nice lb for someone else. i like the kid. he can just play

Grading the defensive talent in 2004?
I thik colby should get a shot..better than rogers..I also would like to move watson to SLB..GUmbo..your being too harsh on him..
I think that a linebacking core of watson and coby outside and a strong MLB would do wonders for our core...but if we kept watson at MLB and got a SLB in the draft say blackstock. question is how good are: 1. allen 2. rogers 3. watson 4. colby and what do we need more a: 1. mlb 2. slb |
