Daniel Lasco

Not a very productive year, and inactive most of the time.

Anybody think he sees the field more in 2017? With Hightower on the market it would be nice to have Plan B in house already

when dressed he played a little bit on ST, but ceratinly didn't contibute much offensively

Re: Daniel Lasco

I really don't know much about him. I wonder if Hightower gets some looks from other teams this year. I doubt he's going to sign for vet minimum so Lasco may move up the depth chart.

Re: Daniel Lasco

I think that Lasco will see more action this year. I feel he was hampered by nagging injuries and rookie inexperience, I have hope for Lasco ,let's see what he does in the preseason. This year's draft is deep in the RB dept. I could see the Saints picking a late rd RB.

Re: Daniel Lasco

The way Ingram and Hightower ran, Lasco shouldn't have seen the field even if he was healthy.

Unless we lose Hightower, I'm content to see this kid on ST and maybe KR.

Re: Daniel Lasco

He will be gone. Decent pick though for a 7th rounder:

At the 2016 NFL Combine, Lasco had an 11-foot, three inch broad jump which set the combine record for a running back

Re: Daniel Lasco

We won't lose Lasco. Marcus Murphy however....

Re: Daniel Lasco

Payton's pretty high on him. Called his progression outstanding. Great special teams player as well. He'll have a bigger role next season.

Re: Daniel Lasco

I seem to remember that the knocks on him prior to the draft were that he was injured often and didn't like contact.

Who knows the truth though.

Perhaps, that was true then.

He may have matured.

I do. When healthy I see power and speed. He has a good motor on special teams (as previous posters eluded to). Give him a chance, who knows he could reshape our backfield. A plus for him is youth. IIRC it took about a full season for Pierre to work his way into the rotation and started in similar fashion as Danny Lasco has.

If he can get a handle on the injuries though  ...

LF7 to the Saints with the 11th pick!!!!

Re: Daniel Lasco

same question linger as they did in the draft

Talent is there but can he stay healthy?

If you sign a proven back like Rex Burkhead RB Bengals. I would feel ok with cutting Murphy and putting Lasco and Cadet on a short leash.

Re: Daniel Lasco

I wish they would have given him some snaps at RB when the playoffs were officially out of reach.....so like week 5 or something.

I remember on couple of ST plays where he was like a combined missile and battering ram, so I'd say that latter evaluation isn't fair IMO.

Lasco was injured with a groin injury; read your injury reports; he'll be fine and he's a big part of the future here...

The guy only had 1 year. I would give him time to see what he's got. Like stated before, I could see Murphy gone before him.

Re: Daniel Lasco

He went to The Woodlands HS, same as some of the Pats players, interestingly enough. He'll be fine with us, rather than the Pats, which is where he will go if we release him.

Very good program. I've seen them a few times during the playoffs (Skyline and Allen).

Re: Daniel Lasco

The kid will be fine. As long as he can stay healthy he will be a fine addition to our running game. I say let Hightower walk if he wants more money. Draft Mixon with a late round pick and resign cadet. We will be fine. As much as I would love LF7 I know it makes no sense unless we go buck wild in FA

ScottF 02-23-2017 08:25 PM

Re: Daniel Lasco

remember that Cadet is a UFA also
not sure the interest in a 30 year old Hightower, but he played very well when called upon. If he stays for south of 2,000,000, okay.

Mixon would be a great addition. That was a stupid move defending himself after the girl hit him. That will and already is haunting him. I bet he will be a UDFA. If he gets a shot at all.

Not that I'm for hitting women but they both made a mistake putting their hands on each other. I would love to see this kid in black and gold. I think he will learn from this kid mistake he made and could turn out to be a solid pro if given the chance to. I actually think he's one of the better backs in the draft.

Re: Daniel Lasco

some of you are already making cuts and roster moves and camp hasn't even begun. Lasco needs some time to develop and I don't see him as a runner like Ingram or Hightower. One thing that I think makes him valuable is make yourself different. You become a different type of weapon for SP and you'll make the roster.

Running Back? Mixon? Nooooooooo...

Dude likes hitting women...Imagine what Goodell would do to us...

It's not like we're Baltimore, one of the Commish's favs...

Buy local, UL Lafayette, Elijah McGuire...

Re: Daniel Lasco

Mixon is paying for his mistake and will make up for it. I believe he would be a 3rd rd pick if not for the incident. Grab him late I. The draft and get a steal. No trash from ULL.

Did he do jail time for the roundhouse punch on that woman? Did he, his lawyers, and the University of Oklahoma fail full disclosure of the evidence, in fact, withheld it, so as to mitigate, minimize his accountability and the scandal?

Don't tell he paid for it.

Yes he is...

AND should Hightower not be brought back, and Lasco gets those touches, opportunities, expect to see a very special back emerge...
