With the imminent departure of Cooks, do the saints draft a WR?

I say... late rounds, probably. :bng:

Free agency is going to dictate a lot as to how and who we draft. I would love to see another Kupp in black and gold on sundays

UDFA or another free-agent sleeper like Snead

Smashmouth football doesn't need Brandin Cooks type receivers

Chris Godwin WR Penn St 6010 209 4.42
Godwin’s insane 85.7 percent contested catch conversion rate is the highest among prospects charted the last two years. He narrowly edged out well-known high-pointer Josh Doctson from 2016, who owned an 85 percent conversion rate.H’s capable of taking over a game on the collegiate level and can win the ball in the air. Godwin can come down with catches despite a defender being in his hip pocket in contested situations, he’s also a strong route runner who can leave them behind. Godwin posted a 73.5 percent success rate vs. coverage facing zone defenses. His 85.5 success rate vs. zone coverage checked in as the fourth-highest among prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft. His 68.8 percent success rate vs. double coverage was above the 80th percentile. Not only did he show an ability to run the full route tree, he was quite adept at executing out-breaking routes. His ability as a route-runner and separator must also get the recognition it deserves. dig and comeback route were two patterns

1st round needs to be strictly defense, after that i have no issue drafting a WR/Playmaker. I'd prefer grabbing a WR in the draft as opposed to FA as well. IMO this should be the short list...

Zay Jones
Cooper Kupp
Chris Godwin
Taywan Taylor
Carlos Henderson
Curtis Samuel

John Ross ran himself into the 1st with Mike Williams & Corey Davis.
Dede Westbrook is also a consideration, but i heard interviews didn't go well, but we'll see. Isaiah Ford, haven't watched enough...im doing that now. but from what i've seen, he's in the conversation as well for me. So many options

We could look at Brandon Marshall if the price is right.

I think he will get really big money

Torrey Smith is an interesting option though.

lol...there is no particular order, just my list of considerations not a ranking. If you're basing the value of Kupp by his 40 time i suggest you go back and watch tape. he's much more than a "40 time."

Should we discredit Jarvis Landry's talent because he also ran a slow 40? 4.77 btw

Re: With the imminent departure of Cooks, do the saints draft a WR?

Well the saints have drafted based on 40 times.

I mean SP is really gonna give his playbook a rest just to run the ball more?

Ross may have ran himself to the top till his medical reports hit the table.

Ross has had two knee injuries and is scheduled to have shoulder surgery following the combine. Ross did not even finish his workout during the combine because of soreness in his calves.
