Re: Terron Armstead Restructures Contract
I have pointed this out several times before, but here it is one more time.
Armstead DID NOT restructure his contract. He had no say so in it whatsoever. Roster bonuses are able to be converted to signing bonuses SOLELY at the discretion of the team. The player has zero input. It is a mechanism that teams can use to prorate the bonus as opposed to paying it in one lump sum. The result is nil to the player. He still receive the full amount in exactly the same manner. As I also pointed out several times earlier, the Saints had over $14 million in roster bonuses counting toward the 2017 cap. They still have another $9 million remaining that they can convert as they so wish. All that said, the only reason to convert is if it is going to be needed. It looks like the Saints have more major moves in mind. |
