As of today, we have $16.1 million in 2017 cap space remaining. $7.8 million of that would be allocated for the draft (subject to change). We also have around $8 million in unconverted roster bonuses and the additional $7.9 million that drops off the the 2017 cap on the Byrd post June 1st release. That gives the Saints at least $24 million in totally non-allocated cap space for more off-season moves.

Godhell was simply making things more difficult than necessary so he could take the money back when we finally had some extra money to spend on getting better.jmho
