Saints GM Mickey Loomis pleased with the offseason moves, but hints more to come
1 Attachment(s)
There's no questioning the New Orleans Saints' desire to improve from three consecutive 7-9 seasons given how active the team has been during this offseason.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said as much Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings. He didn't really have to, though, with the frequency of moves made by the Saints. Yet Loomis believes there's still work to be done in player personnel before any offseason workouts commence. Loomis still pointed to cornerback and pass rusher as "must" additions the Saints need to make leading up to the 2017 campaign. At this rate, those add-ons will be in the NFL draft, some sort of deal with Patriots restricted free agent cornerback Malcolm Butler or both. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...446-mmmain.jpg The Saints inked former Cardinals edge defender Alex Okafor and re-signed cornerback Sterling Moore to one-year deals since the start of free agency. That doesn't appear to be stopping the Saints for wanting more at those positions. "We're still looking at both of those areas," Loomis said. "No question." read more on NOLA |

I get his point but giving up a very productive WR is not a good comparison to the Jimmy trade. When we traded Jimmy he was not performing at the same level. 7 games with 3 or less catches despite being targeted often.
Attitude wise, yes. Very similar I think in terms of disgruntled employee. If we go offense though in the first we will know if Loomis is full of it. |

Less concerned with Cooks trade than I am about the personnel decisions over the past 5 years.
Injuries, bad contracts, draft scouts, talent scounts, suspensions, ineffective coaches, special teams..... Loomis is out of excuses |

I think Okafor may surprise some & I like the Warford signing. Added depth at LB was a plus as well.
CB position... to be continued. |

We have Sterling Moore coming back and all CB's will be healthy. Klein at LB, Okafor at DE, resigned Fairley, signed Warford, signed Manti, resigned Travaris Cadet, fullback John Kuhn and defensive end Darryl Tapp and picked up #32 for a WR that was expendable in my opinion. Our first 3 picks in the draft will deliver 3 starters on Defense so if we don't do anything else I would be very pleased. This is more than we've done in the last 5 years put together to fix the Defense and Allen will put it all together.
