Trade scenario @11

Assuming Browns pick Garrett @#1
They will ! looking to pick a QB @#12 Cardinals would add a 3rd and #13 to move ahead of the Browns and pick a QB.
I could see the Browns countering with pick#20
What a wonderful trade!
This a a very possible scenario.
One can dream can't one?

Re: Trade scenario @11

I think if Arizona and lets say Houston is on the phone also for a QB Cleveland could flip 12 for 11.

we could make out like a fat rat in a bidding war.

What would you see the final outcome and who would we pick since OJ's already off the board?

The Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers are reportedly "antsy" to trade down from the top three in the 2017 NFL draft.

Who will trade up is the question. I don't see it.

Best laid plans of mice and men :p

Positioning mostly would be my #1 goal
Round 1: 8 p.m. ET, Thursday, April 27

Swap
11 NO 1250
12 CLE 1200

Rounds 2-3: 7 p.m. ET, Friday, April 28

Swap Not only having the last pick on day 1 but the first on day 2 would let us trade either one and still get our man
33 CLE 560
44 NO 460

Swap Round 3
65 Cle 265
76 NO 210

Rounds 4-7: Noon ET, Saturday, April 29
Pick up First pick in the 5th to start off day 3. BPA or yet another solid trade down pick and having pick 103 closing out day 2 is a plus.

108 Cle 78

Cleveland ends up losing JUST one pick a 4th out of all the billions of picks they have. Leaves them more than enough picks to move all around the board, For this friendly trade they must fork over 108.

Saints would have to manufacture picks but they have put themselves in prime position to do so with risking players they have targeted to start with.

Best laid plans of mice and men :p

Don't you think, with the Browns being jittery about the QB that we could gouge'em a bit more than for just one pick overall?

Not when they could get Garropolo much cheaper.

Sandwiching 32 and 33 is as solid as a trade up or down as you can get. top pick in day 2 is huge and all those QB hungry teams a top round 2 will be calling yet again.

Or you get the 2 BPA at 32 and 33.

Day three your in prime potion once again to wheel and deal yet again or BPA.

You sure about that? You're talkin' about Horse Trader Bill there. He'll end up with a first and then some for G...

Pats it would seem would want to ditch Garropolo, makes no sense to hang on to him. They could rake it in right now. I suspect they are holding the line as long as they can.

Garropolo is the safety blanket for Tom. The pats really like this kid. So unless your willing to pay big time for him he is not going any where. 1st rounders only and then some

Think about the trade. there is not a cheaper way out of it for them.

This or fork over as much as their second 2nd pick (52 Cle 308) or the top 3rd

That is some talent lost for a talent hungry team

Pats have asked for a 1st for Jimmy and no takers thus far.

Because all the QB's they have cashed out did squat (most do). And he does not have to stay there next year so no guarantee if Brady is still there which he likely will be. They also have another decent QB. I think this trade happens but not for a top 3 pick. I don't think this book is closed yet.

I could see it happening as well. I just don't see what others are saying in that Jimmy would yield more than a first. I think if the Pats had already been offered a late first, they would have jumped on it. Especially since they invested a late second on him.

No way Bill settles for just one pick. One and three and...?

How do you figure? Jimmy isn't a proven franchise QB. Why give up more when you can draft one. He traded Chandler Jones for a 3rd. He traded Collins for a 4th. Both proven commodities. You're not using logic here.

Seer1 04-17-2017 07:24 PM

Re: Trade scenario @11

Look, you're trying to bring rationality to a seller's market in a year of crappy draft choices. G is much more a proven QB than anything in the first round of the draft. Bill will be happier to keep him than go find another backup. Hence whoever wants him is going to have to make it worth his while. He's not looking at he gave a 50 pick for him so getting a forty is totally worthwhile. Bill'll be looking the other team's GM in the eye while pulling out that GM's wallet and seeing how much is in it. There are some really frightened (especially the Browns) teams out there. It's win-win time for the Pats.

Re: Trade scenario @11

Then I'm sure he'll stay with the Pats.

Re: Trade scenario @11

Everyone assumes Cleveland is still in the hunt for a QB. Could it be a smoke screen.

Beginning this offseason no one like the QB's in round one and didn't see one going until the second round. All of a sudden talks of Qb's going in round 1 - I wouldn't pull the trigger on this.

Cody Kessler - showed development. That is what you want if you are Cleveland. Cleveland is building a young team and stock piled picks. Cody is sitting in the perfect spot developing with a young core around him.

I see a better chance of trading the #32 pick. People want that 5th yr option and to jump ahead of the Browns for a qb.
