Webb at 11 or 32?

Davis Webb
Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com expects Cal QB Davis Webb to be drafted in the middle of Round 1.
According to Pauline, the teams showing the most interest in Webb are the Jets, Saints, Chargers and Cardinals.
The Bills have also shown interest in Webb, per Pauline, but not as much as these other teams

Oh my hell. I hope not. A first round QB this year is a waste. Please don't.

I feel the same way about Mitch Trubisky. He has shot up the draft boards post combine/UNC Pro Day.

We will sit tight and be drafting the best player available - I mean the best Defensive player in the draft.

Webb should be available in round 3 if not then we look for a young back up on someone's roster who fits the mold or draft one first next year. Sam Darnold out of USC, Josh Rosen from UCLA or Josh Allen from Wyoming top the list and all 3 will probably be taken in the 1st round next year.

Waste of a pick

Re: Webb at 11 or 32?

PJ Williams played 2 games last year
Breauz 6
Swann 0
Those are our top 3 at CB

After Jordan our ends are Gwachum, Tapp, and Okafor

put me in the 'no' category for a QB in the first round

The Saints front office has made some ridiculous moves over the history of the franchise, but I doubt they'd do something as silly as this. I could make 15 mock drafts, but the process of selecting a player really comes down to who's already off the board when you're picking. None of the Quarterbacks grade out high enough for us to overlook defense. With the 11th overall pick you do exactly what the Saints did last year: take BPA on the defensive side of the ball. If Marshon Lattimore slides to 11, you take him. If Reuben Foster is there, you take him. It doesn't matter. Whoever is grading out the highest, pull the trigger. We could use help at every level of the defense. The only position I wouldn't want us drafting on that side of the ball is defensive tackle. I think we're fine there. As far as Quarterback...we can wait on that until later in the draft.

Rez,

Lattimore and those recurring hammy injuries are concerning for me. Really solid Pro prospect but can he stay healthy at the next level?

I obviously am only guessing but has Lattimore got taller in the last year or two. You often find an athlete with a growth spurt in yheir early 20s get these injuries and they just disappear

With a talent like that I think you roll the dice. The kid has hammy issues and still ran a 4.36? I've got to take a chance.

Re: Webb at 11 or 32?

Mitch Trubisky was at least impressive at UNC for that one year he had as a starter. I think the talent is definitely there for him, but I wouldn't trust him enough to take him in the first round, if I were any team, let alone the Saints. Guys like Davis Webb are strictly workout warriors, in my opinion. No interest in him.

Re: Webb at 11 or 32?

it would be a shame if Webb is picked before the late 3rd round. besides his measurables(6'5, 230) i see no reason to get excited for him as a prospect. bubble screen after bubble screen during his time at Cal did not impress me at all. Please NO. i hope the Saints arent even considering him tbh.

This would really upset Drew who has stated that we don't need a QB. We already have The QB according to him and he wants a better defense. GIVE IT TO HIM!!!

It wouldn't upset Brees at all. He knows how things work. If there is a QB that can be groomed and four years down the line be trade bait just like what the Patriots do, then he'd be all for it. You always need QB's. Even Favre had backups for 20 years.
