Special Teams could be big difference!!!
 
Special Teams cost us two maybe three games. We have new coaching The addition of numerous LBs a DBs KR gets kamarA and Ginn . We have a opportunity to really Improve. Need to step it up.

It was a great day when McMahon (pthaa - spit off to the side) was sent packing. Hate to think of how many games throughout the years were lost due to ST incompetence. I'm very optimistic too!

I can't wait to see Ginn returning kicks! I could be wrong, but I believe we haven't had a kick return TD since the '09 season when Courtney Roby took one to the house. That's gotta be the longest drought in the league.

Our Kick off & Punt coverage should improve, and the defense will benefit. The McMahon days of "We're gonna kick it, so y'all just run down there and tackle somebody" are over.

It will also keep me from breaking another couch.

We'll have to wait and see but I think the addition of Bradford Banta could be the biggest difference on special teams.

It would really help if we can stopped blocked kicks that are returned for TDs until the NFL changes the FREAKING RULES...

I was thinking the same with the Draft was going on. Some of these guys are going to be able to make a difference on ST's. Which is also a badly needed improvement.

I am fine with the blocked kicks. In fact I think Anthony was the first to do that after the rule changes. iirc

I am fine with the blocked kicks. In fact I think Anthony returned the first one after the rule change. iirc

Adam is wise beyond the years. This I know. Like I said before saints fan love an under dog that leaves it all out on the field. Team players are always respected and fan love has gotten more than one player on the roster under SP

Still reading that reply I gave and laughing my butt off sorry about that people. Anyway Adam is a student of the game always. He was the brains of his former team and was made a weak-side linebacker there strictly because he had the range to go to go to help anyone anywhere on the defense and showed just that. It's exciting for me to have you all witness would I have already witnessed. And once you see if he makes it a couple of years have him you will understand what I'm saying I just pray he stays healthy and is able to prove that to you. I am so stoked. To have a family member in this position was really Unthinkable in our region

That's why they brought Banta in as special teams coach. I'm expecting improvements across the board on special teams. Not to mention adding Kamara for punt returns and Ginn for kickoffs. Can't wait!

Special team stat from 2016:

New Orleans ranked 31st in the league in kickoff returns (16.5 yards per return) and held an average starting field position at its own 27.4-yard line, which ranked 24th in the league.

I think Ginn and/or Kamara could change all of that.

That and IF our corners stay healthy. There were a couple of games we lost that could have been won at the last minute if we weren't using 3rd string backs.
