Rookies

What rookie are y'all looking forward to watch during training camp ? I'm kinda excited to see if Marcus Lattimore can lock up that #2 corner spot should be a good battle between Pj Williams and the Rookie ...

Re: Rookies

Marcus Williams. He seems like a natural center fielder ... smart and has a knack for finding the ball.

BTW, he scored a 34 on his Wonderlic.

Put me in the Hendrickson camp, I'm wondering how he will translate to the pro game

Yes after watching his highlights on YouTube that guy definitely finds the ball.

Re: Rookies

Hands down if he gets the chance, my prediction is going to be Adam Bighill. The fastest most efficient side the side,on the spot, Gonna catch you from Guru of tackling. Once an absolute wizard running back in high school and trick play once again Guru College. Billy this be leading tackles in special teams or if he gets the chance possibly leading tackles on the team's if he goes to linebacker. Rookie of the Year?

I think if Anzalone can stay healthy, that dudes gonna be a baller. He's smart, big, strong, athletic, and always making plays, he reminds me a lot of Ellerbe, but I think he has a higher ceiling.

I would hope he takes number 1 spot

Re: Rookies

I don't think we'll have a #1 and #2 CB but rather a left and right CB. Lattimore played almost exclusively on the right side in college while Breaux has usually lined up on the left so that kind of resolves itself.

I'm most excited about Hendrickson because we need an improvement at that position the most and hopefully he brings it!

Re: Rookies

Lattimore and Hendrickson are the two I'll be watching the most at TC. They both have the chance to make the biggest impact as a rookie and get this team over the hump.:bng:

Re: Rookies

I think Kamara, Hendickson and Lattimore will have the biggest impact, but usually its the 2nd/3rd year guys who step up and shine.

I look for Oneyamata, Davison, Harris, Bell, Kikaha, Swann, Crawley, Williams, and even Gwatchum to be in that group that could surprise a bunch of folks.

I would really like to see a healthy Williams and Swann those guys are always making plays in preseason but just haven't be able to make it to the regular season

Kamara is Spoles on steroids.

I'm not really getting the Sproles - Kamara comparisons. I can see a quicker Pierre Thomas maybe?

Which I would be completely satisfied with

I really doubt he is as strong as PT23 was.

Yeah, Im excited to see what all the rookies can do but Im anxious to see if all the hype about Kamara is true.

I think everyone we drafted is gonna make a contribution this year with Lattimore and Williams leading the way. Hendrickson and Anzalone could also surprise.

Agreed. I see a faster quicker PT.

I don't see the Sproles or Bush comps at all.

I've seen it mentioned and I can agree that Kamara looks a lot like a Charles or Foster type runner. He has the same build but the thing I like the best is his no quit style. PT had a bit of that but I don't see the Bush comparison.

To piggy back on what I said. This video shows his skill set pretty well. Sorry if this vid has been posted before, I didn't see it.

Just finished reading a interesting stat from the UT RockyTop blog. During his career with the Vols, Kamara scored a TD per every 12 touches on offense. To me that's big time & a potential threat at the next level. When you watch his tape, he appears to be deceptively fast (official 40 was 4.56).

I can see why Coach Payton is so excited to have drafted him.

Edit: Check out this simulcam 40 time comparison between Kamara, Christian, Dalvin Cook and LF.

As long as we're comparing, I'll throw in my opinion. Watching Kamara, I'm reminded most of Willis McGahee. He has similar vision, quick cuts, and a never give up attitude. Me like!

It's the ability to make plays in the open field that draws comparisons but PT was elusive as hell. I also think he'll have a similar impact as Sproles or Bush though when given the touches.

Only one short clip against a formidable team, the Gators. The rest of the video shows a lesser opponent.

If he and Marshawn Lynch we're on the same team offense would be unstoppable. They have that same technique where their legs just are not stopping even if they're dead to rights

Glad you brought this thread back to life ...

I've got a feeling Lattimore is going to bait Bradford into throwing a pick on Monday night.

Quicker but certainly not stronger. :bng:
