I think we will be better on defense this year, I mean christ it is hard not to be. That said, we have acquired more talent. To pretend that if we have an uptick in defense this year, say to 20th, is solely because of the new coaches is ludicrous. We won a super bowl with those same coaches and there was a point in that season where both our starting CB's and one of our starting safeties were injured. 3/4 of our back end were out, we still won games. So give me a break.

Although this thread will long be forgotten by then. Post season will be the time to talk this. You pull up the variables that are convenient for you to mention while ignoring the rest. Vitt was a good LB coach two decades ago. During the glory year, there were coaches and lack of injuries to make up for the other coaches' deficiencies. That was just one thing you neglected to mention. You'll see at the end of this season that it really is the coaching, stupid. I'm just hoping we're not saying by then, "It's the strength/conditioning/training program, stupid."
