“He is a stud”

The early reviews continue to be positive for new Saints running back Adrian Peterson. The future Hall of Fame tailback has a fan in his new future Hall of Fame quarterback teammate.

“He is a stud,” Brees told reporters on Thursday regarding Peterson. “He looks the part. It has been impressive. Obviously, you admired the guy from afar. I have played in a few Pro Bowls with him, so I do have a little bit of that experience. There is something about handing the ball off to that guy and watching him run through the hole and take on anybody who tries to tackle him. Obviously, we are not in pads right now, but you are just imagining what it is going to be like. So, I am excited for that time to come.”

The team’s defenders may not be excited for that time to come, especially when he catches a swing pass from Brees.

“Any time you can get him in space against a smaller DB, look out,” Brees said. “Good luck tackling that guy in the open field. I feel like all of our backs are doing a really good job right now.

His age 32 burn down chart is not the same as an average RB. Drop off, yes but still ahead of of a lot of guys. Can't carry it 20 times a game consistently but a handful he could do some serious damage. Just keep him healthy and fresh.

I say positive things all the time. You just choose to focus on the negative . Which is just as bad of a mindset.

Saints guard Larry Warford was similarly complimentary, saying Peterson is “cut out of granite” and he “lives up to the hype.” But he offered one word of advice (which has been given by others, as well): “Don’t shake his hand,” Warford said.

Can anyone point to one single negative comment Drew has ever made about any of his team mates?

I admire him for that, but it also makes me take anything he says about his teammates with a grain of salt.

The dude is so professional its even impossible to read between his lines.

He could hate a player, and you'd never be able to tell. I'd hate to play poker with Drew.
