Maclin released by chiefs.

Maclin has great hands and could be a stud again under Brees. I know we won't sign him but a guy can wish right? Step right in and be that veteran presence.

I'd take a look. He is supposed to be very tight with Chase Daniels so I bet the brass will take to him about it.

No thanks. We're in pretty good shape with Thomas, Snead, Ginn, Fuller and Coleman. Even if Coleman gets the boot because of the dropsies and playing small we have other options like Lewis or Lampman. I even forgot about Kamara and Ingram's contributions in the passing game.

Depends on what he's asking and what is going on. I don't think Andy Reid would let him go without a reason.

That's just not right, man! I can't go to the gas station here in ATL and pick up some cracklins. Did it have to be a close up shot of deliciousness?

Definitely.
Can you imagine what our depth chart will look like if Thomas gets hurt?

Can you imagine what it would look like if Brees got hurt? Or if Cam Jordan got hurt?

Nope! Not gonna do that. Who gets dumped to add yet another WR? And imagine our depth chart if we then lose our starter in that position... Or another team releases a kinda good veteran LB, then another team releases a veteran kinda good defensive lineman, then another team releases a veteran kinda good....

I'd like to have him. Probably can't afford him. He'd be wonderful in this offense. I think he goes to the Evil Empire in New England.

Not enough reps to go around for a guy like him to even consider coming here. If we hadn t signed Ginn I could see us pursuing him, at this point it's too late though.

Re: Maclin released by chiefs.

Ginn just has to sit back and accept his role if Maclin wants to be in the Big Easy.

With MT out 1-1 last year. The run game likely has to take over. Nobody is going to fill that void very good right now. Still a ways to go though. Someone else emerging would not be the first time and one of our strengths.

Re: Maclin released by chiefs.

i am still on the Corey Fuller band wagon.

Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore made the first call on Fuller as a player to watch in 2017.

“I guess everyone is looking for someone to emerge in the summer workouts and training camp and I think very highly of Corey Fuller,” Moore said. “I was with the Lions in 2015 and Corey was an impressive player there. He came into the league as a speed receiver, but he has worked hard at his game by getting stronger, becoming a more precise route runner, he is a terrific downfield blocker and he will play special teams. Corey is a great athlete and aggressive going after the ball in heavy traffic. He learned a lot of that by working with Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson earlier in his career. He has strong hands and he can really turn it up after the catch.

Mike Detillier's column: Saints RB Peterson shows off receiving skills - Sports - Daily Comet - Thibodaux, LA

With that said You have all the dead money from KC to work with $2 mill 2017 and $4 mil 2018. He averaged $11 million a year and
The Saints have the cap space ($12 million) to get a deal done.

Replacement players for those two are not available right now. A player who would immediately be #3 on the depth chart is. That's the point.

and yes, we should always try to add better players
is that really a question?

Signing Macklin would probably cost us Vaccaro next year.

Is that worth it? It is debatable.

Good point if and i would go through the roof if we spent yet another first on a SS.

Believe we have as good as we need right here now; we just need to let Curtis coach it up...

We've had to walk back spending in certain positions on this team to get team balance and it's cost us three 7-9 seasons...

Are we to abandon that now that we're this close?

We are finally developing our young talent and I like the young guns waiting in the wings. I love what Curtis Johnson did with Meachum and Henderson.....maybe he can fix Ginn's occasional drop and max out these young receivers potential.

Besides we need to sign more of our players next year and I don't want to have Mickey Loomis making the tough decisions again about who to let go like Vaccaro for example as mentioned by Danno.

Jeremy Maclin is an okay WR, IMO he is nothing great. I am seeing a lot of stuff about him all over the net, sounds like this guy has a great agent promoting him, because I know of no other reason he is getting so much love??
