I am a little surprised that he's still not getting practice reps 12 months after the injury. I get wanting to take it slow but will he have enough time come training camp to make an impact?

Totally agree. I pray he can make it back and not have another tear. 3 times is rare as we read..4 times..I think he hangs it up.

I think Kikaha is a gamer. He's a playmaker. I hope he comes back and makes a difference.

Start slow and stay healthy. Week one is when I will worry if need be. In the mean time let him strengthen the joint and get comfortable doing something besides rehab and lifting weights.

Hope for the best we need all hands on deck and some luck to stay away from injuries they just decimate our roster constantly.

Heard he was in on some walk-throughs already; any word whether that was as a linebacker or as a defensive end?!?

Only one other NFL player has ever come back from 3 ACL tears..

Can't find that exact info, but I did find something here that made me feel good about Kikaha...

Mini Camp Wrap Up: Saints sign DT McDaniel, other things to know | WWL

Hau'oli Kikaha: Hasn't been participating in any team drills or individual drills this off-season coming off an ACL injury that caused him to miss the entire season in 2016. I get asked a ton of questions about him, so I finally I caught up with him in the locker room. Here is what I can tell you. I asked him if he could play in a game if there were one this week? "I could have played in two games yesterday," he said. Kikaha came to the Saints in 2015 as a 2nd round draft pick out of Washington, and played really well his rookie season. Kikaha told me a little more about his ACL injury. He said the injury happened in OTA's last spring when he was practicing and used a spin move on an offensive lineman and stepped in a soggy muddy hole on the practice field. Also, Kikaha got into his injury history and told me his previous two knee surgeries were not done properly and this is the strongest graft he's had of the three ACL surgeries he's had.

Sounds like he's feeling great. I guess it's just something we'll have to wait until training camp to get answers.

Looks like that's going to be two!

Oh, and where did you get your information that there was only one previously? Link? Photo of hard copy? Making it up?

Well?

Well, probably the most notable player to come back from three knee surgeries would be Carolina LB/S Thomas Davis...

Believe Kikaha's injury is the second on one knee, two previous injuries were on each knee...

Thomas Davis like J/P said. You never know though, you think we are getting 4 more years with Brees so in your world maybe he will be fine.

Thomas was the first to come back from three on one knee. Of course, that has been since ACL repairs have become very successful.

As I said, Davis was the first to come back from three on one knee. The success of the surgery has been far greater in the last few years.

Still haven't seen your personal research.

Oh, and yes I have no doubt Brees can play four more years. Of course, you would expect far less with your negativity.

Hope he does and hope he balls out. His work ethic and attitude makes you want him to do well.

Bubble player that might make it no further than 2018 cuts

That pretty much describes most of the Saints defense.

I feel the same about Kiakaha as I do about Peterson . I'm hesitant to get too excited about Either. Miraculous things happen I just don't like either's odds. If he can play like he did when healthy it would be a huge plus for a team struggling to create a pass rush

I like kilaha's nose for the football probably more than anything else, some just have a knack for turnovers, and we could use that. Cautiously optimistic

Not on the 53 man roster is my easy prediction.

Any sack, QB hurry or tackle for a loss that Hau'oli has in 2017 is Lagniappe.

Hoping for much lagniappe for Kikaha this season. That would be huge for him to come through as hoped and planned.
