Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
We're at 89 on the roster at the moment before signing McDaniel and another long snapper...
But I gotta feeling this signing addresses Devaroe Lawrence, who's not been available... |
Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
I heard on the radio that McDaniel graded out better than any of our DT's against the run in 2016. If accurate, that is a plus.

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
But what about the pass? We were killed by pass catching RBs last year and last couple of years. I thought we did well vs between the tackle backs outside of the likes of DJ and Freeman last year.

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
"Had him ranked #26 on the big board" "Gave him a "6" cause he has a good beat and is easy to dance too" Right back after this Pimple Cream commercial!!

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
Nobody saw the Nick Fairley situation. Thinking we bring in someone else once the rosters get refined. This is more of a patch effort. Not the worse situation. Something better will develop.

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
solid depth signing given all the youth we have up front. he was a cap causality in Seattle
|
Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
He didn't suck but didn't make any waves either. Just a plug for a hole in the hull. We are going to find another body once rosters shake out.

Let's give the guy a chance before we drive him out of town!

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
Fairley was the better run stopper and Onyamata is the better pass rusher I believe. So he can help Davison with the rotation to stay fresh hoefully.

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
Fairley was a beast, great run stuffer and equally as good rushing the passer. Hopefully, Onyamata and Rankins step it up another notch. The line is still the strength of the defense. Biggest question mark is the linebackers
|
Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
This signing is fine with me. Big man to plug the hole and can hold his own. He want get the stats Fairley had but plays well enough to hold his own. The front line might have just got stouter.
|
Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
Happy enough with the signing
Been on a few good lines over the past few years Solid veteran depth, might not pull up any trees but he will offer solid depth and rotation. Hopefully though Fairley will be back |

Here are some opinions from Seahawk fans about Tony's past production up there last season.

Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
He just seems more of a 3-4 defensive end than a DT, but he's a great body to have in camp and evaluate what we have in camp...
|
Re: Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
I would like to go onto the official record as doing 3-5 minutes of Google scouting and identifying this player as the DT we would bring in (after I whiffed on Wilfork). The team owes me a dollar.
