Another Left Tackle
I know we drafted Z but does anyone think we need to sign another LT just in case. I certainly do. With Unger having issues and Terron out for 4 to 6 months it seems we fixed out defense and now the offensive line is going to fall apart.

Re: Another Left Tackle
I would go with Ramczyk at LT, if he fails then move Peat over. As to your question, the answer is somewhat yes. I wouldn't necessarily say the Saints need to be specific in signing another LT, but they should sign as many good quality linemen as possible to build depth that is now taking a hit. The good news is Armstead should be back by mid season, he can either regain his starting job, or be that key backup for the rest of the year.

Re: Another Left Tackle
Depends on whether there's anyone out there really worth a shot. Just because they were once fitted for pads sometime in the past decade shouldn't be an automatic yes.

Re: Another Left Tackle
If we sign anyone, it'll need to be an interior lineman should either Josh LeRibeus or Jack Allen not be up to the task till Unger returns full-strength...
Peat started nearly every game at LT with Kelemete at Left Guard; so you've got one proven interior lineman for sure... Ramczyk was a first round left tackle, and though drafted to relieve Zach Strief, he'll just have to take the big step to LT... You want to play in the NFL, this is what it's about... Key to protecting Brees in this offense is in the interior, keeping big linemen out of his face - the ball will likely be gone before an edge rusher can get to him... |
Re: Another Left Tackle
Kick Peat out to LT and put Ramczyk at LG.
Run the ball down peoples throats to start the season and catch the NFL off guard |

We've already got a lot of moving pieces on this offensive line already missing its signal caller in the All-Pro Center Max Unger... |
Re: Another Left Tackle
Ramcyzk could become a beast but for now ... let's wait and see how he has recovered from injury and the competition plays out. I hope he turns into the next Tyron Smith but he still has to show it at camp.
For all we know, Ramcyzk might not be ready for LT. |
Re: Another Left Tackle
Signed Chris Watt formerly of the Chargers 84th pick overall in 2014
