Drew Brees Named Among Top 20 Players in NFL by Pro Football Weekly

Finally, some respect.

After all the noise around the NFL Network’s Top 100 list, Pro Football Weekly has come out with their Super 50: NFL’s Elite Regardless of Position. Coming in at 12th overall is New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees.

Finally!

Drew Brees gets the respect he deserves in a Top X list. Brees comes in ahead of players like Cardinals RB David Johnson and Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr, both of whom ranked ahead of Drew in the NFL Network Top 100 list. Brees comes only one spot behind Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell (9th in NFL Network’s list).

The Top 10 from Pro Football Weekly haven’t been released yet, but it will be a shock if Cowboys QB Dak Prescott beats Drew in the rankings again.

Not about number 1 but I disagree with their choice at number 2.

If Ryan has shown us anything it's that he can't elevate the level of play of his offense. Like Drew, Matt Ryan is strictly a passer. There's very little worry that he's going to take off and run with the ball. This is the first year in his career in which he has been in the top 3 of the league in most of the passing categories. Coincidently, he has one of the top running back duo's in the league, a very good offensive line and possibly the most athletically gifted receiver of our generation. In the past, when he didn't have all of those assets at the same time, he's struggled to stay in the top 10 qb passer stats.

Even though Cam isn't a good passer, his ability to extend plays or scramble for positive yardage forces teams to game plan specifically for him even when he's the only real offensive threat.

Just my opinion
