Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
This is will be another piece of evidence in the case that Mora's ego became bigger than the team everywhere he's been...
Though this instance was in Indy, he's still showing he's a selfish ***** by not being there to support Peyton Manning who invited him... |

Zzzzzzz....

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
Maybe someone told him Ron Swoboda is going to be there...

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
He would have ruined Manning's career.

Manning... Manning... Who gives a SHlT about Manning. |
Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
Well we made the playoffs four times in five years under him. I would say, had it not been for winning the sb, he would be "greatest".

If for the past 12 years, Sean Payton, Drew Brees and our current offensive system would have had Jim Mora as defensive coach with that 80s defense, we would be the greatest team ever in the NFL history!!! Brees would be the NO DOUBT greatest QB ever. Hard to think about... http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/martin.gif |

Cedit Vic Fangio From 1986 to 1994 New Orleans Saints' linebackers coach, where he oversaw the Dome Patrol era of outstanding linebacker play.

He had his moments.......apparently he's still having them.:p

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
Payton Manning's father was Archie Manning.
Archie Manning is from Mississippi. Mississippi had slaves. Therefore a statue of Payton Manning is racist and must be taken down. |
Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
- back to the thread.
I dont believe this... How do we know WHY Mora isnt coming to this? Maybe he has a prior engagement. FF is 100% right. If this team with Peyton & Brees had Mora's (and Bum's) Dome Patrol Defense, we would be the greatest team in NFL History. In a related note, if Aunt Ruth had balls, she'd be Uncle Bert. |

Mora, I'd agree to that.

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
Gotta disagree with y'all about matching "Mora's Defense" to Payton's Offense...
First Point: There are two names that really should be getting the credit for that defense - Jim Finks and Steve Sidwell, not Mora Second Point: Mora and Payton would have killed each other in the locker room fighting over strategy... Mora didn't trust throwing the ball alot, he prefered the Ground Chuck approach, eating clock... Payton believes in a full, no-holds-barred, aerial assault as if he were playing in Arena Football... Third Point: While there definitely would have been a pass rush, there's no way of knowing if the Saints secondary, particularly the cornerbacks could compete in today's no touch, no grab NFL rules; Toi Cook was often the weak link on that defense, particularly at the end of games (a familiar theme these past seasons since the Superbowl win)... Final Thought: There's one disturbing parallel though - as both coaches tenures became longer and they acquired more personnel authority, with fewer checks and balances, they made horrible personnel moves... Two bright spots for Payton - First, hiring Jeff Ireland to come in and get the Personnel Dept up to par with the offfensive success and though, slowly, painfully, give back some of that authority (trust) in personnel moves... Second, hiring Mike Nolan and Ryan Nielsen to support Dennis Allen looks to be a brilliant, fortunate move and may very well boost the back half of Payton's run as Saints Head Coach... |

Bum's (and Mora's) Dome Patrol Defense Fans have plenty of reasons to knock Bum but the Dome Patrol was Bums gift to the saints fans and Jim Mora. Mora had to only finish off the foundation Bum Built Bum will never get the credit because of the Archie trade and turning the Saints into an Oilers retirement home on offense. Trading away Archie and bring in Kenny was a huge mistake. Both were washed up sure but publically it was suicide for Bum to do. The FO is not the one to blame here, not completely. 91% a Bum move. But credit goes more to Bum for building that defense. |

You might as well throw that in there. :D  Now we need some off season thread repair... and it's all your fault. How did the ref get in the pic? https://media.giphy.com/media/Ip5W6qL4MSzIY/giphy.gif |

I listened to an interview he did with a local sports talk show here in Indy. Didn't sound bitter and he actually admitted he'd like to have some of those post game tirades back as he didn't think before he spoke.

ok.... gotta share this... my megababalicious swedish GF, who is
just learning football, and Im indoctrinating her as a Saints fan, has just seen, for the first time, a collage of Mora's famous rants--- "Playoffs! Diddly - Poo!" "you dont know, you think know, but you dont know." her take: (say this with a swedish accent) "It sounds like he HATES his team." |
