Current Cap Numbers
We've gotten a look-see at the current cap numbers for each of the 32 NFL teams.
And here's the cap space each team has or, as the case may be, hasn't. Raiders: $300,000. Buccaneers: $406,200. Patriots: $532,500. Falcons: $564,300. Dolphins: $1,110,200. Saints: $1,170,600. Giants: $1,317,200. Redskins: $1,502,900. Jets: $1,573,500. Seahawks: $1,829,900. Buffalo: $2,020,100. Chiefs: $2,021,600. Broncos: $2,183,700. Titans: $2,266,700. Steelers: $3,000,500. Panthers: $3,290,500. Texans: $3,832,700. Lions: $4,469,800. 49ers: $4,744,700. Bengals: $5,163,700. Rams: $6,018,700. Packers: $6,069,400. Bears: $6,160,600. Ravens: $7,058,300. Chargers: $7,278,900. Browns: $7,974,400. Cardinals: $7,999,000. Colts: $8,192,200. Eagles: $8,523,200. Vikings: $9,398,000. Cowboys: $9,725,500. Jaguars: $11,348,800. Keep in mind that all teams still need to sign their draft picks, so those with less than $1 million in cap room are going to either be restructuring contracts or shedding players. Also, teams with high-priced franchise players (e.g., the Raiders, Saints, Colts, Seahawks, 49ers, Chargers) could pick up some space come July by signing the guy to a long-term deal -- or sooner by trading him.For teams that enter the season with large remaining cap balances, the excess can be used to extend contracts. |

It is worse than I thought.
Howard has to go. That would free up nearly 8 mil in space. Thanks for the info LK! |
Current Cap Numbers
Nooooooo...we can still keep Howard and sign all of our draft picks, and sign JT O\'Sullivan. We can never have enough DEs making $8 mil a year, esp. without a signing bonus!!

If we can\'t move Howard we will(are) be in cap hell!
|
Current Cap Numbers
if we do move howard does that actually give us his entire salsry in cap room. that would be huge. if we are trading him for a third in 2006 then that would be why

What\'s sick on that list is Minnesota. They -still- have 9 mil available. That\'s just sick. SICK.
I wouldn\'t be shocked to see Daunte and Brady fighting it in the big game this year. Nor would I be surprised to see Daunte win it. Gotta love those UCF boys. |
Current Cap Numbers

not certified but reliable when he states it as fact. concerning minnesota there has been some interesting articles how they got some tremendous cap \"rebates\" from salary incentive clauses that were not attained. |

When you look at these numbers, it\'s not a question of if Howard will be traded, its when. There is no way the Saints are going to keep him with under 2 mil of cap space to operate. Howard is as good as gone. All we can hope for is a decent player and/or draft pick in return.

If we hadn\'t cut Tebucky we\'d still have 2.5 mil. So much for the smarts of our FO.
We\'re definitely trading Howard. I agree. |
