2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Camp beast definition : A camp beast is usually a player that is fighting for a roster spot, but can be any player that is performing above and beyond general expectation (see Michael Thomas last year). See mine below.

Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
I bet we're going to be hearing Arthur Maulet's name a lot.
Any plays Marshon Lattimore makes will be expected and any catches given up will cause Chicken Little's to label him a bust already lol. Maulet on the other hand, he's a local longshot who will get a ton of hype. |
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
I'm going to say Trey Hendrickson. He is known for his unrelenting drive and I have a feeling he steps it up at this level.

Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Since ya'll named two guys I really like in Maulet and Hendrickson...
I'll add an Underdog - DT Justin Zimmer... |

We have another AA this year. He's got my vote. He'll be the real one.

Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Anzelone!
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Arthur Maulet still a longshot IMO but we seem to do pretty good with home town secondary.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
I am going to say with his NFL career on the line, Garrett Grayson is going to have a phenomenal camp. I still doubt he will make the team, but at the very least could keep things interesting.

Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
I am going with either Browner, Spiller, or Byrd.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Coleman, he has a breakout year.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
We need to get stronger at DT. So Zimmer is who I want to show out.
Maulet is a CB and we desperately need more depth there. He will be the local favorite I believe because of his ties to the city. Anzalone is who I'm really going to watch closely because the hype on the board has me stoked about a real LB'er who can make plays. There will be some fun had on the field this year if this young team balls out. :p |

So far I like what I'm hearing about most all of the rookies. Fuller was a complete surprise for me.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Mitchell Loewen. Loewen is a bit of a ‘tweener at 6-5, 275, but he makes plays.
Coleman, where did that speed come from? Hope he pass the piss test |
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
LB Adam Bighill
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Boobs, Cats and Chicken Butts!
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Add Warford to the short list.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Youth movement looking good so far
Ramczyk and Kamara Young bucks looking to make their mark A.J. Klein Stephone Anthony Brandon Coleman and Corey Fuller Still waiting on Marcus Williams Some major areas of concern ie secondary but so far it has been a camp filled with pleasant surprises |
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Adding Ken Crawley to the list ... he is not only playing well thus far in camp but turning his head around in the process.
This guy could turn out to be our UDFA gem (see Malcolm Butler and AJ Bouye) at the corner back position. |
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
P.J. and Crawley as starters perhaps? It could happen.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Beauty would be Kamara for me, and the beast would be center Jack Allen.
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Ken Crawley, Brandon Coleman

Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
After reading today's practice report, maybe we should look at Al-Quadin Muhammad as a possible beast.

Let Muhammad get first team reps in the next couple of PreSeason games, then we'll know if he's the goods...
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Muhammad, but draft picks should not be included as camp beasts, they're supposed to be camp beasts.my official beast is Tommy Flea Lewis
|
Re: 2017 Saints training camp beast - who is yours?
Beast: Coleman. That is hopefully, because we really need another corner of the endzone goal line guy that can do a physical matchup nightmare for 6' CB for jump balls.
Bust: GG...if the Browns game was any indicator, he ain't got "it". I'd like to see what Nassib does following Daniel the next game and give him a shot at #3 with tendencies to be a #2. That TD was a dart, I'd like to see what he does with some 1st line guys catching the ball. He's been under Manning since coming into the league and I think he's had a good upbringing so far. I'm guessing the only reason he hasn't supplanted GG was because his 3rd round draft choice rank and the management hoping he becomes worthy of that pick (I doubt it though). I'll give GG credit though, he did throw a touchdown in that Browns game, but for Ted Ginn Jr and his worse than stone hands. That's the Bust 1a selection, Let TLL be the speed guy, at least he can catch! |
